Why only a 22 and not a 23 or 24 model?

I put an S&B intake on mine. Closed box and large intake scoop eliminated underhood heat and makes no extra noise.

The S&B is a better investment because it's a true cold air intake, and the K&N is not.

I am averaging a 10% increase in fuel economy especially on the highway.

When you let more air in the air damn/air gate closes to restrict the flow or the fuel mixture richens a tad and the throttle restarted slightly.

Your air fuel mixture is computer controlled.
If your racing then yes at WOT the Oil air filters make sense.
I ran a K&N and wore the filter out at 300,000 miles.
After buying a cleaning kit every three cleanings I think the math said I saved $80 in filters over 300,000 miles.

A proper cleaning, drying, re oiling took several hours.
I’ve got better things to do with my time. As for a mileage increase. I saw about a half mile per gallon increase. Until I started driving like I did before it went in.
Then no gain at all.

If you ever even slightly over oil it your gonna have a reason to pay for a throttle body cleaning.

If you ever slightly under oil the filter
Crap gets through.

That was my experience with the K&N

Total waste of time... everyone loves the extra vroom under the hood.

I have used a K&N type filter on my dirt cas for years but the cold air deal is wishful thinking

Yeah I get cold air intake when it’s cold outside,
Ya think !
Anyone ever notice that our stock air intake pulls from out front and not even from under the hood in the engine compartment ?

The deal is the computer adjusts fuel and timing based on the air temp, coolant temp etc. Adding the cold air intake just forces the computer to adjust those parameters to compensate for the new air temp...

Back when we had carbs it worked...today? Not so much ..

What I'd like to see would be an everyday owner taking any intake and dynoing it before and after. Companies have it in its best interest to show good numbers but how about the layman?

You haven’t seen that and you won’t because it gives no performance gain what so ever without a retune.

Normally it is dyno'd with everything else and I don't think I have ever seen a car show or anything to the contrary.

The last thing I saw (somewhat relevant) was an older Hot Rod TV (Spike TV days with Joe and that other guy) in which they ran an Astro Van before and after (hypertech, exhaust and I believe a high flow filter) and they were impressed with the increase. I wasn't but I wasn't getting paid to promote certain parts.
