Ive not finished reading the owners manuel but im gussing its not gonna help???

Seems in most auto the 12 v dc plug is keyed to the ignition. I had one dodge with 3 plugs keyed that way but there was a way to move a fuse over 1/2 and get a hot plug. i needed that in the rear. BUT the mav hyb has a hot plug in the front and im using a splitter for gps/radar detector. Is there anyway to make that plug tied to the ignition? My splitter has a lite that is on. yes its led but sometimes i only drive once a week. + you gotta deal with all the lites comming on when you just open the door.
Mabye i lived off the grid too long cause when theres a lite on and your not readin it need to be OFF.

I used a Micro3 fuse tap into fuse 1 and 2 in the box located at the passenger's feet. I drove that to a three-way cigarette lighter plug adapter. I cut off the cigarette plug and wired the fuse tap direct to the three-way. I put that in the glove box and plugged in my GPS and dash cam. Now my dash cam and GPS turn on and off with the vehicle. Easy.

thats good to know Tom. as a new owner it looked like it was ON and i really didnt monitor it to see if it timed out, Being someone that may drive and park for sometimes 1 wk i didnt want to end up with a dead Mav..
im gonna have to play it out as i can manually turn off the gps n the escort RD but i got the ready lite on the splitter that shows power to the plug

When I got it in December, my radar detector would go off in maybe 5 seconds. After driving to Florida from NJ, it stayed on for at least 30 minutes, maybe longer....
