Ive been recalled!

Had my truck since Oct 21 and have put just over 15k miles on her. Last week had a warning light come on that read "Rear belt fault service soon".

Dropped the truck off at Ford last night for the service, oil change and tire rotation. They called me 30 minutes before closing to tell me there is a recall on the sensor.

Anyone experienced this yet?

Haven’t heard of that recall. Mine is at the dealer for recall 22S47 (shutter inspection/drill holes), but they didn’t mention anything else.

There was a recall for October Mavericks (and Mach-E) that had the rear seat belt mounting plate holes manufactured oversized.

It would be great to see where and how they drill the holes. By how, I don't mean method so much as resultant quality based on chosen/specified method.

Yeah, I have no clue. He said it may take a few days, because they will have to inspect the shutters. Maybe the recall info tells the techs a general number and location of holes.

There's actual diagrams for the placement. It's not like they just instruct the tech to throw a few in wherever looks good and call it a day.

So we drill holes so that fluids that leaked don’t build up and catch fire? Ok, but how about addressing the root cause? Why is the there leakage? Bad crankshaft? FIX IT!!!

From what I've read, the crankshaft issue affected around 25 Escapes from the 2021 model. Looks like they realized they should have changed the under shield design regardless if your vehicle was susceptible to engine failure, to help eliminate a fire in any case.
