I can't believe it, my Maverick has shipped! No idea when it's going to arrive at the dealer (mid-Feb?) but I want to be prepared.

I'm looking at:

  • McGard Tailgate Lock $29 (so no one steels the tailgate. Might be a big truck problem, but it's a cheap part so why not)

  • Tint the front windows at a local shop

  • Paint/Wrap the front grill bar to match the body color

Did I miss anything?

You need the Ford Aeroskin Hood Protector, made by Lund. It's $79 on Ford Parts. To protect the leading edge of your hood from rock chips.

Here is the mother of all threads about what others have done to their Maverick. Good info throughout with pics

Mud flaps and floor mats are a must. And smart not to put them in the build and then finance them. I live in a rural area and stealing a tailgate will get you shot, so the lock is nothing I need. LOL

You won't need the tailgate lock, bed rails, or phone holder on your Lariet Lux.

Consider ultra bright over the cab brake and backup lights (The kit has two red brake lights but you only need one and that's the only reason Amazon says it's not compatible with your Maverick)

Have a tinted curtain put on the windshield when you get the front windows tinted. $50 more or less.

What's the deal with those? I think they look stupid. Do they really provide a lot of glare protection? I'd consider getting the entire windshield done with a clear ceramic film just for heat rejection.

They are good when the sun is at a certain distance above the horizon and the angle lets the sun come between, above, or below the coverage of the visors. No interference with seeing at night which can result from too dark a tint on the side windows because you are not looking up there. I notice you have CG. I like anything dark/black in contrast to the CG. Guess it is a matter of what you like.

I like the tint on the sides, and I do plan to get my fronts tinted to match the back. I really like that look. But the dark strip across the top of the windshield I don't. Like you said, just personal preferences.

I have it on my old ass Ranger and it’s awesome. Definitely helps with the sun and frankly makes me feel cozy in the seat.

First, Congratulations! on getting the Mav Built.
A lot of folks like to get the short antenna to replace the longer stock antenna.
