Note to all most vehicles are aluminum and doesn’t rust it corrodes (aluminum oxide) check your panels with a magnet if it sticks it’s steel no reaction is aluminum
Unless you work for the Air Force or the Postal Service it definitely is not true that "most vehicles are aluminum".

how is the Fix hold up long term. My wifes 22 is going in for a spot on the hood that just started bubbling up no paint break. Ford is sending it to the body shop. thinking will be chasing this for the life of the truck now like all the mustang owners the fix seemed to fail after less than 2 years.
Why not send a new painted hood to the dealer and recycle the poorly treated one. Has to be cheaper than paying body work rates here.

It starts with a poor prep job from factory.if it’s done correctly it will last.as for a hood replacement there will be a paint match issue and cost effectiveness. bodyshops can use whatever paint company they want.and you will never know what paint company They used at the time yours was painted.google the repair process for aluminum oxide repair.my texting finger just gave out best to you and your repair/paint issue

here is the bubbling

IMG_0621[1].JPG
Lift the hood and check the underside if it’s in the hem flange seam that’s a tough one to fix the seam has to be peeled back. Show me a pic of the inside where it’s bubbling on the outside

We use ospho or rust raider for aluminum

Pretty sure the exhaust system is covered under a much longer warrany. 5/50 or maybe even 6/60.

And it is probably just surface rust anyway, or just discoloration. The entire exhaust system is stainless steel. That does not mean it'll never look rusty.
The last I remember surface rust is not warranty only naturally rusted thru with a hole

My 2022 Lariat has bad bubbling on both corners of the hood (about 4" in from each front corner). Got it at the end of January 2022 and this past winter was almost non existent in upstate NY. I'm not even at my 3yr/36,000 mile mark yet! I'm pretty upset about this. OI also have rust staining on rear bumper near the hitch.

Should b covered 36/36 warranty
They are covering it just not replacing the hood doing a fix. fixxed metal has filler in it and filler fails and on the leading edge of a hood. This will be a problem for the life of this truck or intel I end up out of pocket for a 22 white salvage yard hood.

If they do it correctly they won’t need filler just grind it till corrosion is gone then spray rust/aluminum rust raider or ospho wash off them prime and seal. Then prep for paint. The underside hem flange is really tough to fix.I would get with the bodyshop manager and ask questions about the fix
