The 17 gives you a little more sidewall height but overall height basically same. Taller sidewall equates to softer ride with a little less firmness. If you were going to aggressively drive the mav I’d go with lower profile/less sidewall. If you’re going to just drive normally I’d go with taller profile/ more sidewall for softer ride. Myself I drive on expressway and don’t dog it so I prefer the 17 so I could run a taller profile but still put a wider tire on them for better traction but still have a reasonably soft ride. I’m wanting to swap out my lariat’s 18 for some 17 so I can add some 245/60 r17 so speedo doesn’t change but I got more tire on ground
