Is Ford fixing little problems as year models change

Ford has known about the back up camera recall since September. Still no fix. Ford continued to build 2024 Mavericks right up till November 8th.
Are you aware that....
There are times vehicles are manufactured even without certain parts they are still waiting for and they will put those almost completed vehicles on a lot and go back and fix or install the parts they are waiting for.

Could bring in example of old news where thousands of Broncos sports were almost fully assembled but yet sat around waiting to be completed....

People at that point were concerned with how long a vehicle can sit with fluids in it without being started sitting in the desert with the sun and dirt and then being sold at a later time. But those vehicles finally made it to Market to be purchased.

Yes, I understand that. But if you don't already have a fix for the 2024's then why keep building them? Why build a vehicle that you can’t sell?

Because when a fix is available, those vehicles can be fixed just like all the rest? Why stop production for an issue that can be fixed post-production? Do you understand how manufacturing works? Every minute they aren't producing, they are losing 1000's of dollars.

Those 2024s will eventually sell. If they have to sit in a lot for a few months, it doesn't really matter in the end. Auto manufacturers do this all the time.

Did you get this?
they want to finish with the parts that they have.

It's like if you had to make 50 sandwiches but didn't have any mayonnaise. So someone's going to the store to get mayonnaise. While you stay at home and make all the 50 sandwiches. And then when the mayonnaise gets there you go back and just put mayonnaise on them. You don't stop making sandwiches just because you don't have mayonnaise yet.

Because they can sell them once the issue is resolved and it would cost Ford more to stop production for an issue that is going to be resolved with a software update.

Yeah, well in my 50 years of sandwhich making I never.... very good succinct illustration that describes the 'major build in mass now / minor repair later' practice so common in allot of manufacturing

I understand using the parts on hand. I don't understand assembling vehicles with a part already on recall. Especially when you don't know how to fix it. Build now......hope to fix later.

Because the part will be fixed with a software update. They aren’t going to put a new camera, harness, sync 3 module, etc.

It will be a software update.

Hasn't this been going on since the 2022 model Maverick?

This does not change the fact that a software update will be the corrective action. They are not going to retrofit every XL and XLT with sync 3 to resolve the issue.
