I went to my dealer and asked to have 2 things deleted as I now need my Mav asap. I had the drop-in liner (96J). When they removed it, it automatically added the bed tray liner (96B) and it would not let them remove it. It's in their system as part of a package, 4k being the only package I have on there. They even tried to remove the 4k and add it back on, but the tray liner remains stuck there. The order guide lists the tray liner as a stand alone feature, so it doesn't make sense that they can't remove it. They seemed clueless and just apologized and said I had to leave it on. All-knowing @fordvideoguy, any advice? I tried to remove everything that might hold up my order, but this is frustrating.

YES!

I thought it was just my dealer being shady. I tried to drop the "drop in" and it auto added the tray liner! When I threw a fit (since the tray is super constrained), they told me the system was forcing them to choose "some sort of bed liner" in order to save my revised order. My options were to add the drop in back on, or go for spray in.

Sounds like it is a real system glitch and not my dealer being as shady as I thought they were being.

Ugh, sounds like yet another Ford cluster! I hope Tim can help shed some light on this one...

I am assuming that you have some package that requires a bed liner take one drop in and sell it when it comes in. Or drop the LUX package or whatever requires a bed liner.

You would think so. But nope! Basic XL with AWD and CoPilot 360. Unless they already have applied the new 2023 rules to orders. Crazier things have happened.

As per the 22 order guide, the Lux packages all have spray-in as part of those packages; and in every trim the 96B tray liner is a stand alone option. Something is definitely amiss. I am just hoping it is a type of consolation prize they are forcing us to take as a replacement, and as long as it is 100% available, I am ok with that! But I am not that confident Ford is intentionally being nice. 😜

Hummmmm! 4k or 360??? I wouldn't think either. I would choose the least constrained that I could sell after I get truck. I have not removed anything from my original two orders one is hybrid XLT LUX plus 2 others scheduled for week 7/25, and one XLT plus 4 pin hitch plus 400 watt inverter (nothing else this was my way of deleting LUX pkg on my first order. Then in March a hybrid first edition came available at MSRP so I snatched it up. So now my son has first right of refusal on one of them. I am going in on Aug 2nd and (as per Tim's suggestion even though he's not my dealer) and order a 2023 for either one or both that Ford makes a private offer on. My sales gal said she will submit as many offers as I want to make. I have a couple in family that will probably want one but are not the "I can wait for something" type.😭

I think I figured it out, have them select the Cleat Tie-Down Kit A. When you have any of the liners you are required to choose the Cleat Tie-Down Kit B so that is probably why they have choose the other liner.

Glad it worked, good luck! If you get scheduled this month, I'm taking credit, lol.

I'm curious how many folks this glitch impacted over the past week. Folks who had dealers who was unable to diagnose the issue as quickly as Tim did and who ended up saying "tough luck" to their customer like mine did.

I bet there are more than a handful of folks who followed the directions from that Ford email to contact their dealer to remove "constrained options" (without naming any specific constraints to remove). Bet some folks called up their dealer and said "take off the DIBL or SIBL" and had their dealer do it at the cost of having an even more constrained bed tray "auto-add" to the order, putting them in a MORE constrained situation than they started with. And then not being savvy to the constraint percentages and saying "That's fine, I'll take the bed tray. It is cheaper than the DIBL or SIBL." Ignorance being bliss and all.......

In a perverse way, it might help those of us who are waiting to be scheduled. Since those who suddenly have a bed tray on their order are certainly going to not be scheduled.....
