Ordered Carbonized Gray Hybrid First Edition from Granger on 6/21 but since it's a hybrid First Edition you can guess whether Ford has scheduled it for build. 🤣

I just test drove one in Muscatine and I have to tell you... they are roomy and the AWD was pretty fast! I hope I dont get a ticket in the thing! AHAHAHHA Firm steering and suspension made for a fun drive! Wasnt ideal conditions with the rain but fun never the less!

They are everything I hoped they would be! So pumped now.
Sweet. I currently drive a ‘16 mustang so tickets are not my friend. Ordered the Mav here in Iowa City. What was the size like? Is it smaller or bigger than what the pictures make it out to be?

They are very roomy inside surprisingly! I'm 6'1 and have plenty of room in the drivers seat and rear. Passengers wont hate it. The interior colors aren't like the pictures the interwebs shows. They are better I thought. Some phones washout or exaggerate the colors. The interior is very nicely done!

The bed is smaller than the pictures make it but great for my uses.

We are apparently all invading the Des Moines area at some point in the near future (I'm picking up Saturday!)

Place my order at Billion Ford in Clear Lake but then almost lost me. They told me I had to buy a extra $2200 or $2700 package in order to buy from them. After I gont done with them called Mason City Ford Lincoln and they charge more wiothout giving anything. Called Pritchard Auto Company in Garner and none of that BS. Told Billion I was canceling and left. They called me back and said ok to MSRP only.

Granger Ford (near Des Moines) is selling the Maverick at 3% BELOW INVOICE. Clear Lake is only 120 miles away. I have my order with them and I will driving 180 miles to their dealership. They are awesome to work with!!!

Well I did not really know about the Maverick till like a month ago and was thinking I will look in to one next year or a used one but I still looked around in person to see on but all I had was Sundays free. Then last week I learned about the hybrid being almost sold out and what the expected wait time is. So I just drove to my local and now I am just finding out there are dealers selling lower then invoice. Anyways I got my spot in line now not going push it back even further because I cancelled it. I could just place another order and let the dealer keep it but who know how much further I would get pushed back. I won't be going to Des Moines for a while because preping for winter. I would like to save $600-$700 it is what it is for me.

I live in Florida and will be purchasing (fly in when ready, drive home) from Ames Lincoln Ford. That is after Grainger got a little shady - but the real WIN WIN was the sales rep at Ames was willing to give me his same FE build out (ordered in July) - which should be well in advance of my (Sept order) - when it comes in! Then he will await my vehicle and take ownership of that one! Very nice of him to do that for me! Also no malarkey akin to Grainger with a NON-Refundable (illegal to do this in Iowa) $1,000.00 Deposit fee!

The Grainger guys were good to me initially... but the willingness to swap out with the sales rep for his early commit order and this information in regard to NON-refundable fee + adding $10 for a CV Lot fee that Ford does not even charge - both issues were cause for Grainger to lose my business.

This was not my experience with Granger. I get not wanting to do a non-refundable deposit, but I also understand their rationale and decision to require it - they are the #1 volume dealer for the Bronco, and their operating model seems to have some contention with Ford, probably because of other dealers complaining. So, they have to prove that their buyers are legit, and the deposit is part of that proof.

I suspect that if you went there and decided not to take a vehicle, they would give that deposit back. All it would take would be 1 bad posted experience to undo all of the otherwise positive feedback buyers post.

With regards to a $10 fee, there has to be a point where you should be shrugging your shoulders here. My threshold is definitely higher than $10 on a $30K vehicle purchase. I saved in the neighborhood of $2k on my fully equipped XLT, not going to worry about the equivalent of the gas I burned in the first hour leaving the lot.

In their favor they also...

- Surprised me with a Ford targeted incentive of $750 - I received the mailer from for Ford for this 2 weeks later - now maybe they have to do this, maybe not - either way it was a nice surprise.
- Returned my $45 transfer fee (overnighted) when their mistake was discovered, as I was titling and paying the taxes/fees directly myself in Minnesota.
- Had my truck prepped and had us in and out within an hour on a Saturday morning, including a quick drive and walk around.
- No grumbling when I decided to sell my 2019 XLT FX4 Ranger locally vs selling to them (a desirable truck they could have made decent $ on - when I told them Carmax's offer they simply said go for it)

All good stuff for you - to end a "tit for tat" exchange... good luck and thank you sincerely for your insights!
