It is very surprising that after driving your vehicle, that it remained in Deep Sleep mode.
Tell me about it! I had the same message dated this morning that arrived right after I got to work. I’m afraid my battery is about to die soon.

I can force my truck into Deep Sleep mode just by opening and closing the doors several times in a short period of time like you might do when you are cleaning the interior or arranging items inside. Starting the truck has always canceled the Deep Sleep mode for me.

I just checked my battery. Inside under the seat is 12.05 and under the hood is 11.8. Not looking good.

Sounds like you may be on track to the wiring harness issue…

What's it at with the truck running? Is it charging?

So I have turned off the options to send data to Ford, I’ve disconnected my Homelink, unplugged my dash cam, and have fully charged the battery. We’ll see how it looks in the morning.

Oh yeah, lights still don’t come on with door open and car off.

So it seems this is tied to the Deep Sleep issues mentioned elsewhere. The below fixed my issue. I did this after fully charging my battery. Hopefully it lasts and I’ll keep an eye on the battery. My truck is going to soon sit for a week while on vacation so that will be a good test.

Was having the same issues with the overhead lights. Even the turn signals were not audible! I used a trickle charger for a few days and everything came back.

Another thing you can try is the Battery Sensor Reset shown on page 311 in owners manual.

So I tried charging the battery a few days ago, stopped by Advanced Auto Parts and they did a load test. Looks like battery is good but they said it needed to be charged already. They seemed convinced that I do not drive enough so will see.

Definately consider getting a portable jump charger before going on that trip. I will not leave home in the Mav without one now.

I have a plug-in and a portable. The truck will be sitting in the garage for a week while I’m gone. I’ll check the voltage when I get home.

So I am adding this message to the five different threads I have been in.

I had this issue: Interior lighting when door opens not working which turned out to be the Deep Sleep issues a lot of us have been seeing. Well resetting the battery sensor as shown in this post fixed my issue (at least for now).

I've been thinking about this and I had disconnected and reconnected my battery a number of times when installing my HomeLink mirror and when installing my dashcam. I did not do the reset after, but if I had maybe I wouldn't have the issue. This is a big maybe as it took a few months to happen after the installs.

Just food for thought if you have the issues and disconnected the battery previously.

Is there a dimmer on this? Had a car once that had no interior lights and the issue was the dimmer roller was all the way down. Lights were coming on, but dimmer was below the level where they were would work.
Just a thought.
I had the same issue and found the same solution, it was the dimmer switch.
Another dimmer switch issue - I also had a dealer installed remote start that would shut off when a door was opened. When the inside lights were turned off by the dimmer, the remote start would not shut down when the doors were opened.

My truck is constantly in deep sleep mode. I get the message every time I drive it or even just start it and shut it off.

I asked the mechanic about it last week when I was in for a recall. They understood the issue but had no fix for it yet. It was either keep the truck a while and possibly but probably not find an issue or live with it until Ford figures it out. The mechanic was great and understood the frustration. I decided to live with it for now and wait to see if a software update some days fixes it.

I will say since I’ve fully charged it and done the battery reset procedure it happens a lot less.

Hi there. This interior light concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Maverick. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.
