Was just replacing
Ford Maverick Interesting Cabin/Air Filter observation - Smushed
my 2022/ FX4 Air cabin filter @ 38K for the 2nd time- Noticed that my last install somehow "smushed" the entire back row portion of the somewhat flimsy OEM unit- Not sure this would have helped performance- lol

Just upgraded to a much studier OEM 2.5/Micron unit FPP/89

Cheers-

Mine eases, slides right in with no crushing.

Dealer installed mine for free, only had to pay for the filter. When I get home I always pull it out and take a look see, never had a problem.

Yeah it was an odd finding as I am uber OCD- The new unit slid in easily and kept its form without issue yet I had to fight to get the deformed unit out of the housing.

As already suggested, likely signs of rodent intrusion. Then again, it’s very clean looking, unless you dumped stuff off it already.
