Pretty cool. Guess I know what I'll be spending my Ford points on.

(Unless the install for the Lariat plug and light is similarly easy to do. Might go that route instead.)

I put a second cubby in my '23 XLT. Easy and worthwhile upgrade, although I had to scare up some blackened bolts & washers. I put a 12V lighter socket inside of it in case I need to run my air compressor or a work light. Had to install the cubby first and THEN slide the socket into place.

I'm assuming you wired the lighter socket to the "prewire" in the back of the truck. Does it stay hot all the time? Was thinking of adding one and leaving a portable phone charger/flashlight in the cubby.....

Yes, exactly. It seems to go on and off with the lighter socket in the dash. My intended use was probably for a portable air compressor, so this seemed OK. There is both good and bad to whether utility power is switched or not, eh?
