I found it easiest to either remove the sidemarker housing from under the bumper or simply take the bulb out from the housing and then replace it from behind the bumper and reinstall the new LED. I pulled mine up on ramps and removed the OEM insulation shield and just reached up under the front bumper.

That was the safest bet without doing any damage to the paint. My clear side markers should arrive tomorrow, got them for $25 best offer.
