One advantage of the grille strip lights is they provide turn signals out of line with the headlights so they don't get swamped out and can be more visible to other drivers.

The reason all manufacturers have gone to led headlights, is the NHTSA how rates headlights in their crash ratings. No leds, you don’t get a top safety rating. Crazy, but trueI know it is fun to do things like this, but for those coming the other way at night on a two lane road, especially if there is some moisture in the air ... it will be blinding and make it hard for many to see the center line, if there is one, or the shoulder line, if there is one, like many country roads don't have. Every time I see Ford PU stacked led headlights on each side at night coming toward me or a a tall pick up with up high leds, it is really a problem. I really wish they were not using led's for headlights or more had taken into consideration this situation while designing the vehicle.
Huh? These are not bright like headlights. Will be no more bright than my new switchback LED DRLs/turn signals.I know it is fun to do things like this, but for those coming the other way at night on a two lane road, especially if there is some moisture in the air ... it will be blinding and make it hard for many to see the center line, if there is one, or the shoulder line, if there is one, like many country roads don't have. IIHS is the one pushing headlight ratings, not NHTSA (with the exception of a few flawed in such a way they deserved recall). Not that they don't both have an effect on manufacturer design, but the IIHS tends to be more aggressive in increasing test standards beyond the regulation text. The reason all manufacturers have gone to led headlights, is the NHTSA how rates headlights in their crash ratings. They are cheap eBay lights. To properly install, you have to drill into the grill to run the wires. I drilled up and into the center section of the center grill.Where did you get the lights? Vendor and part numbers would be a great help.
Not sure if yours is any different. Mine look like that as well at night. If lights are set to auto, the strips don't come on during the day.I did mine and added the parking lights as the Drl
