Just be glad that Ford allows us to turn that crap off. Some manufactures don’t.

FYI, the app does increase creepy corporate surveillance, but even if you never installed the Ford Pass app, or paired your phone, there is still vehicle telematics. Your speed, location, braking, time of day, and much more are all uploaded.

You can pull fuse #11 (in the front passenger side foot well) which physically cuts off the modem and all telematics. That will also cut some benefits such as post accident 911 auto dial, stolen vehicle location, and anything you might like in the app for example remote start.
Thanks for the share.

It's usually in the fine print that they use your info for "third party partners" or similar wording. You're basically telling Ford whoever pays them can send spammy offers to you.

I'm amazed how many people still willingly give out their info to big companies without even looking at the details. They all do the same stuff. I always go through the settings of Apps/etc and find all the check boxes about sending info to whatever company and uncheck all that.
Correct sir.

One more thing. Before you pull fuse 11, I would recommend that you go into the settings on the center screen and turn off telematics. That might keep data from filling any memory buffer that may exist.

I don’t think it has anything to do with the old ford pass, it’s the new ford pass “connect” that started with MY25/sync 4. My wife’s new expedition has that connected services stuff, after the year trial period ya have to pay for it, I won’t be renewing/paying
So just the renewal notices for the free trial about to come to a close.

Offered at cheaper price than cell service would cost on it's own, by offset with personal or group info.

Ya - I'd rather just pay for the service at full cost if really desired.
And with a cell phone that can connect to truck screen, that would be unlikely to be a desire.

I have a 23 ECO I bought used from Carmax with 3k miles. Took it to dealer for 1st oil change. They kept trying to push the Ford Pass app on me. Then, they figured out that my truck did NOT have remote start, it had the push button. It had the factory exterior keypad. So now it's a couple years later and I'm getting emails about renewing my Ford Pass.
