Interested in upgrading our XLT cargo bed with the driver’s side cubby switched LED light and outlet that was an option or included with other models. (see photo)

I know we could probably install an aftermarket light and outlet there … But thought I would start by looking at the Ford OEM parts. But cannot find part numbers for it … or even what to properly call it to search.

So, thought I’d ask here and see if anyone has the answer for me. Thanks in advance.

Thanks! So far searching for that number isn’t getting me anywhere but more photos of it.

Not sure what kind of project you're up for but I believe the supply to that outlet is an inverter behind the back seat. You'll probably need to run cabling back to that if you included the option for the 400W inverter on your truck. Otherwise you'd need to install an inverter (potentially somewhere else?) if your truck doesn't have one yet. At least one member has done something similar. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. Hadn’t started to think about wiring it yet… was trying to start by finding the OEM part(s).

I put my outlet inside a bed cubby and lost the light doing so. I have the panel and light, but used the switch for the bed lights I put in. Ill try to see if I can find part numbers on things tomorrow

Thanks, Don, appreciate it. So do you still have the panel and unused light in place … or did you remove them?

If I remember correctly, the bed panel that holds the outlet, light, and switch is a couple $$ MORE than a bed cubby costs😳. No clue on cost of the light or button.

Aha, I see … Would you be interested in selling the panel and light that you’re not using? I’d be interested in getting them for our truck. If so, send me a message, and we’ll discuss.

There was another post where they talk about what wires are where for trying to add the side bed light to a truck that did not come with it. They were able to do it but did not use the factory panel because the price was a bit high so they did their own thing and got the light part working so it comes on with the bed light that is on the edge of the trucks roof, and they can trigger the bed light from the back.

It looks like something I would like to do too.

You do need to buy a bunch of small parts for the wires but they are not expensive.

Do the cubby doors have a seal making them weather resistant?

Do you have the 400W inverter option outlet in back of the center console? If you do, the actual inverter is in back of the driver's side back of the rear seat. Do you see any wires from this inverter routed to somewhere into the driver's side sidewall of the bed? If you do, those wires may be accessible (after some pulling/re-routing) from the cubby cavity opening. I don't have a truck (yet) but I have always thought of shining a light from the inside of the cubby towards the driver's direction and inserting a camera to take video or pictures to see what wires may be attached inside the wall (but unused if not called for on the right trim/option). Another view angle to explore for existing wires maybe from under the truck driver's side bed sidewall.
