Identify Broken Piece - Windshield Replacement

I had my windshield replaced today and I didn't notice until I got home that this broken piece was sitting in the center console. What is it? The backside is sticky like it had double sided tape on it.

Well one would hope but ya never know. A good glass repair person would toss the broken pieces. I know this day and age that's asking a lot of someone tho. I'm waiting on my insurance check so I can schedule a replacement windshield myself, we'll see how that turns out. Although I've seen this guy's work first hand. Takes his time and does a great job. He takes the registration and inspection stickers off and puts them back on like they never came off.

Those pins are more for production when decking the glass. There are usually stops at the bottom edge as well. I would think that a replacement tech would align the windshield correctly. So if it has good gaps around the edges then you are good.

Have you considered going back to the install shop and asking?
