This is getting looked at again next month when the truck is due for an inspection and oil change. I got a better video today that has the sound three times at the 2, 12 and 14 second marks. This was in a flat and newly paved parking lot. Just posting it here for everyone's viewing pleasure.
You hit the nail on the head!
New dealer on a visit today "Rear differential does show signs of slight grease seepage around axle seals but this is considered normal and is not indicative of a rear differential gear oil leak. Ford won't do anything about it"
Dealer said the transmission fluid "looked fine" and it hadn't thrown any codes, but after some recent visits I no longer trust that dealer.
Having said that, I think my issues are possibly CV axle and RDU related so I'm chasing those with a new dealer now.
I have this happen every single day leaving home and work. When I go to pull out onto the main road it's as if the truck doesn't want to move. Suddenly, it jerks, throws me back in the seat, surges and shifts very quirky a few times before smoothing out around 30MPH. I get about a mile down the...
I have an appointment with the dealer in a couple of weeks so I'll see what they say but I took a closer look at the RDU and there's some "gunk" build up where it's leaking.
I had my windshield replaced today and I didn't notice until I got home that this broken piece was sitting in the center console. What is it? The backside is sticky like it had double sided tape on it.
I've been listening more closely for this sound and it might be coming from the rear... I took a look and there appears to be a leak where the driver's side axle goes into the RDU. A picture of the passenger side is for comparison.
I've had exactly the same issues since the day I bought mine new. 2024 XLT AWD 4K tow. Very rough and harsh shifts with hesitation until I hit about 35mph (whatever gear it's in at that point). I've had it looked at a couple of times and the dealer has said the usual excuses (fluid 'looks fine'...
I've been hearing a clunk/snap sound from what sounds like both front wheels. I usually only hear it at low speeds such as entering/leaving parking spots or my driveway. I had it at the dealership today and two techs drove it and heard the noise but neither could determine what's causing it. I...
I swapped the larger display instrument cluster into my 2024 XLT Ecoboost. When I was going through the IPC module to disable some of the warnings (park aid, etc.) I noticed the fuel capacity was set to 16.9 gallons. I thought the capacity is 16.5 gallons? I never noticed what the capacity was...
When I look in the service procedures in Forscan, I don't see the "Clear Transmission Adaptive Tables" that I've seen on other Ford models when watching YouTube videos. I do see a "Reset All Adaptations" procedure for the PCM, is that what I need to do to clear the adaptive learning?
I pulled onto a road near my house this afternoon and got up to 55 MPH. Lately, on the first few accelerations of the day, the RPMs don't really change much when the transmission shifts and it hesitates to get up to speed. After I've been driving for a bit it acts normal. That happened today but...
8 speed transmission with AWD and 4k tow. I know sounds are tricky for a forum post so I'll see if my dashcam picks up on it.
Randomly when my transmisison shifts I'll hear what sounds like a rustling/fluttering/chirping sound. I can best describe it like stepping on a pile of leaves. It...
