Idea for rear camera view when tailgate down ( need an engineer)

Thoughts on the possibility of coming up with a way to still use the backup camera while driving with the tailgate down. What if you could devise a plastic or rubber band that would adhere to the chrome around the ford oval, would have to be removable and reusable ( maybe static or magnetic?)attached at the bottom would be a mirror similar to a periscope that would allow you to see what’s behind you as opposed to below you when reversing with the tailgate down? Not sure if the camera could handle the focus but thought it would be a cool idea for an engineer or designer to address?

The mirror works ok or you can add a second camera on the license plate and have a diverted switch so you can go back and for

Wonder why they did not mount the camera right above the hitch. Seems like that would be a better spot for it.
