I ordered a '25 Maverick but more than likely won't be taking ownership when it arrives. I'm perfectly content with my current '24 Maverick Lariat FX4 that I've only had for half a year. I do have an explanation.

I have a good relation with the used car sales manager at my local Ford dealership and we both decided to order a '25 Maverick under my name just to see how long it takes for it to arrive. The beauty of it is, it doesn't cost me anything. No deposit and no lock-in. I can either keep my '24 or if I have an interest in the '25, I have the option to trade as long as the numbers are reasonable.

Since it's for fun, I decided to order the one shown in reviews and press photos the most. Eruption Green Lariat Hybrid AWD with two options: 4K tow package and keypad. Granted, if I was ordering this for myself, it's exactly how I would spec it anyway.

Once it arrives, I'll definitely take a look at it in person and see if I like the new front fascia. I've been quick to say how much I hate it in pictures but who knows, maybe once I see it in person, I'll actually like it since that's been the case with facelifts and redesigns in the past. Chances are I'll be keeping my '24 but we'll see what happens. Until then, I'll be keeping track of it.

Nice spec. If nothing else, you should surely do your MTC brothers and sisters a solid and post pics/thoughts when it comes in. :sunglasses:

You really should order one of every color.
Haha, very funny :p I'm disappointed to see Hot Pepper Red and Cactus Grey go. Those are safe and classy choices. I am glad to see Velocity Blue back since that was a one and done option for 2022. My dad and I always enjoyed that color on other Ford products over the years. Eruption Green is my mom and I's all-time favorite. I'm not sure what the Space White is gonna entail. I would imagine it'll be a pearl white reminiscent on Toyota/Lexus vehicles. Maybe with a splash of beige in it? Not sure. Desert Sand is another good one. I've seen that on the Bronco Sport and is in the sweet spot, not too vibrant but not too subtle at the same time. So in essence, the color palette is very healthy this coming year, at least IMO.

I posted this somewhere else today, but today I saw my first Azure Grey Maverick (which also happened to be a Tremor, the first I've seen as well).

I liked the color much more in person than in pictures. I can confidently say if I had had the opportunity to see the Azure Grey in person prior to my HPR arriving, I would have changed the color. It just looks good (especially in Tremor guise).

I was tempted to get that color considering how similar it looks to Area 51. But I was only going according to photos and renderings at the time. I didn't see my first Azure Grey in the wild till long after my order was submitted. Although I liked it, I didn't regret my decision. I wanted something vastly different and since Hot Pepper Red has been out for a while (since launch) I knew it was the next choice.

Don't know what your finacial situation is but if I was guessing I'd say you get the '25. The 360 camera and Hybrid AWD is worth it.

We'll see. I actually don't want to like it because I really enjoy my current Maverick. But I am interested in an AWD Hybrid. It would be my first one which have always intrigued me. The reason for getting the Ecoboost was solely for the AWD option since my family and I plan on moving up North sometime next year. According to Ford, they are targeting 40 mpg city with the AWD Hybrid as oppose to the 25-26 mpg in my Ecoboost. If that's the case, count me in.

I dream about 25-26 mpg with the Tremor, 24 is about the best I get. The Tremor is a blast to drive, probably why I get 23-24 mpg. I know what you mean about not wanting to like it, there is a part of me that doesn't want to part with the Tremor but the Hybrid AWD is what I wanted since the Mav came out and really it compliments my Bronco. The Bronco on a good day gets 18 mpg and the Tremor is a little better but the Hybrid will be a whole lot better and make a better around town vehicle.

Nice! I ordered the same exact truck but with the Ecoboost. I ordered mine on 8/1. Curious to see what truck will be built first. Eruption Green Lariat 2.0 4K Keypad.

Probably yours first. As been proven in the past, the Ecoboosts are easier to build than the Hybrids. Not that I'm in any particular rush for it anyway since it was ordered out of experimentation. However, if I do pull the trigger, this will be my first Hybrid. I've always wanted one too. Like many folks on here, I would want an AWD Hybrid and they finally delivered. It's the best of both worlds: you get the hybrid efficiency with AWD capability. And they're targeting 40 mpg in the city. That's fantastic fuel savings right there. I would only have to fill up once a month as oppose to once every two-three weeks. I would be saving an extra $120 a month. Can't go wrong with that.

I'm curious about the 4K tow with the hybrid. I know when I tow anything over 3k pounds I feel it haha.

I have no desire for that feature. That was the sales manager's idea. If it were for me personally, I wouldn't have included that option. I don't plan on towing anything.

I couldn't agree more. I really enjoy the prospect of an AWD Hybrid. It's the best of both worlds. You get the hybrid efficiency with AWD capability. I do a lot of city driving. I rarely go on the highway. That's why having the hybrid would make more sense since city mileage is always higher than highway which I would benefit from. Their target is 40 mpg city which would be hard to pass up. That translates to only once a month fill-ups compared to every two weeks.

As it sits, the 25-26 mpg is on a good day for myself. Normally I hover around 24 and change. On the highway, I can get 31-32 mpg which isn't bad. That's about the same as our Bronco Sport. I took that out of town last weekend on the highway and I achieved 35 mpg at one point. The highway mpgs haven't been released yet for the AWD Hybrid but since it'll be less than city, I'm guesstimating around 37-38. So it would still get better highway fuel economy than what the Bronco Sport or EB Maverick can ever achieve on a good day. I've pretty much talked myself into the new one it seems 😁
