Thanks for keeping the Granger dream alive for some of us that had to go another route…
My personal health has me out of the running for a new Maverick, but I was with Granger and had it all planned out. For us it would have been Amtrak back East and a nice run back home via the Black Hills and Murdo SD. - then going through Yellowstone as I was a park employee for five years.
Hoping you get your ride soon so you can enjoy a Fall run and we can live the trip and new Ford fun via your posts.
All,the best ….✔🇺🇸
Thanks for your post…hope you get well soon and continue to enjoy the things you enjoy!
I’m excited for the trip and I’ll definitely overshare as much as I can 😂

After calling union pacific, it states my maverick will be in Missouri on oct 11th... when would I expect it to be at granger (for planning purchases)? thanks!
Recently, Mavs have been waiting at the yard for between a few days and a few weeks.

Thank you for the kind words and prospects of seeing your journey via posts. Unfortunately the doc has put an expiration date on my time here. I have had an excellent run and pray that all this is some time way in the future.. Live each day to the fullest and everything else will fall in place.
Be well -
Have fun and enjoy the ride ahead…..
I look forward to keeping an eye on your journey.
Thanks again ✔🇺🇸

I used to live in Kansas City and the drive from where I live now in North Carolina to Kansas City was about 17 hours. Looking at directions it looks like Granger to my home in NC will take about the same amount of time.

I'm probably going to pick the truck up and drive down to KC to see my oldest son. Then get up early the next morning and do the drive all in one day. That is usually how I do it when I don't have any kids with me, straight through.

My truck isn't in production yet and has been bumped back several times (currently scheduled for 10/24). I'm beginning to wonder if maybe it is the 4k tow package causing the delay due to the current recall?

According to what I've read, the recall on the Mavericks equipped with the 4K towing package shouldn't cause much of a delay because the remedy is a firmware update and doesn't require any disassembly, parts replacement, etc.

Wow, I would luv for one of those Area 51 XLTs to be mine. But, according to Ford chat today. It's at the yard in KC. So close! Sorry you have to wait on recall fix Barracuda340. My plan is to fly in around 1pm get to Granger take care of business and hit the road! Probably drive about 5 to 6 hours and finish the other 8 to 7 to Lubbock, Texas the next day.

That is also sorta my plan. Wife and I fly from ABI to DFW on the 6AM flight, do a 4 hour layover in DFW, maybe have breakfast at TGI Fridays,
(I have had fried chicken and waffles there when flying out once before pretty tasty)
then board the first flight to DSM. The DFW-DSM run arrives at 1:41 pm so if you call the dealer to pick you up, you will prob get there by 2:30pm. Or take an uber for $50 and be done with it.

I work for AMR corp as a structural sheetmetal mechanic crew chief at the Abilene heavy check facility for American Eagles regional aircraft. Lately my newest when people ask me what I do for a living, I just say I drill holes in perfectly good aircraft. This is because in the last 2 years one of the things we have been doing is modding brand new EMB 175s RJs for in flight WiFi. Part of that includes mounting antennas in specific locations on the fuselage which means drilling holes in it lol.

have myself listed on flights for wednesday, thursday, and monday next week. I am going to delete my seats on the flights for Wednesday and thursday this week. Too late to change other itinerary I had scheduled for this week anyways.

I went to the Texas State Fair in Dallas. Never been, will never go again. It was an insane amount of people. I grew up in the northeast. N.J. to be exact. I go to the metroplex every once in awhile to remind myself why I do not ever want to live in a big city again. State fair, once in a lifetime thing. Got pix of "Big Tex" went to the Auto Corral and sat in a new silver XLT maverick. Super nice and roomy inside. Really solidified my decision. But then again I'm currently driving a chevy HHR as a daily driver. It feels like your sitting under your dining room table when driving it, and it's really cramped.

Wifey hopped in next to me. She was pretty impressed with how roomy it was inside. This amped up my feelings towards getting it soon. The orange interior accents everyone seems to hate, didnt seem bad to me at all, and the dark navy blue plastics inside actually seemed to play nice with the light grey and orange. I was not sure how I would like those color combos inside, but they do play well together actually.

Also got a pic of me in a Challenger T/A 392. This is the closest I will ever get to ever owning one of those because of the $60K price tag. But a beautiful car none the less. Supercharged 392 Hemi V8. 2024 it all goes away. Dodge goes to BEVs no more chargers or challengers. No more Hemi V8s with their guttural roar, and glorious V8 sound. Good luck with that decision Dodge. And forget buying one used. Once the Hemi production stops, the price tag on good used ones will skyrocket. My 2007 mustang GT was $29K new, and I determined to myself back then to never pay over$30k for a depreciating asset like a new vehicle.

As far as the mav goes, Hopefully it's just a firmware issue. They can complete it this week, fix the "silver buffalo" and we can fly out monday the 17th. Finance reached out to me on monday to get the paperwork done so that's a good sign. That would be great if you ended up flying up on Monday in the same aircraft as us.

I'm sorry to hear your health derailed your Maverick plans. Prayers for healing, comfort, and amazing quality of life as you face these hurdles.

Chapel Hill area. I'm hoping to eventually get my Granger order but I have now been bumped back a third time, so who knows?

Hey-O! My expected date at the dealer was 9/13 so we can make it official...this is the first thing in the entire order process that has happened early! Ha!

Bobinmi I'm in the same boat. Mine arrived in Missouri on Thursday of last week. When I reached out to Ford chat Monday it was still at the yard awaiting shipment to Granger. First it was the wait to be scheduled and built. Now it's the shipping, lol. But. In the end will be worth it!
