Welp I just got back from a trip to my favorite local grocery store and got an indicated 49.9 MPG on the 12 mile trip back which included having to sprint to 55 to get on a main road (most roads were suburban at 40 to 45 MPH with the last 5 miles being full farm country, had to stop for some chickens in the way at the $6/dozen egg farm stand).
Ford Maverick Hybrid thoughts you think about it now dont you

About the farm fresh eggs down the road? Yes. About the vehicle? No, just illustrating the selling point on the hybrid, that was a single-trip MPG from the vehicle, which is reporting 37.3 MPG overall (not even broken in yet!). Coming from my old Grand Caravan (20 MPG tops same driving patterns) I find both numbers to be a marked improvement.

I still think the calculations for trading in for a hybrid won't see you recouping your cash outlay in a near term. After all, the Ecoboost AWD setup is a good powertrain too, with many satisfied owners.

You should find or create a spreadsheet that will let you calculate what the fuel savings could be vs. how much you will pay in plus overall running costs and depreciation for both vehicles, I had a link to one some years ago but I cannot find it, I probably purged the bookmark shortly after I retired.

Temptation should be tempered by wisdom and number-crunching, my friend! Don't listen to me - I'd sell you on the hybrid and maybe even to your financial detriment!

Not a Ford fan, but I bought my 2023 hybrid because it was the right size. $36,000 OTD, had all the toys except sunroof. No "deals" in those days. Lucky not to have to pay over sticker. The other day, my wife and I were cruising along and I said, "God help me, but I really like this little truck. I would like it better if it was a Toyota or Honda, but I still like it."
Then, I realized that the part I like best, the hybrid system, was developed by Ford AND Toyota. The Mavericks and the Toyota trucks are built in Mexico, so even on that point. Toyota has (foolishly in my opinion) gone turbo, so I won't be buying one of those.
Getting 38.4 overall for 18,000 miles. I'm satisfied. Until something else catches my eye.

Yep, and for their hybrid trucks I believe Toyota has gone for horsepower vs MPG. The traction battery is there but their fuel economy estimates are some of the lowest I've seen for a hybrid.

Wow @Ohio44890…. You are all over the map on this! Is flipping a coin an option? Was buying the EB such a bad decision? Eight pages of yes/no is wearing everyone out. You’ve received input for both the EB and the Hybrid. But you already have an EB. I bet they will still be selling these things in a couple years… including a re-design.
it’s usually should I get a Taco, maybe a Ridgeline, a Santa Cruz, or stick with the Maverick? This is Mav vs Mav… it’s a fairly close comparison.
I’m worried that whichever you decide might eat at you regardless. Make a choice and be 😊 happy.
