So unless you drive a lot…a hybrid wouldn’t really help very much?
Drive less than 6,000 miles a yr
Very short trips to work…. Like a 2 miles😁

Give me your thoughts and opinions

I have the 24 eco… but I am intrigued about a hybrid

The Hybrid has plenty of power compared to most other compact vehicles, but it’s not an EB! The EB is a fun drive. You will notice the difference when you press the pedal. If you were coming from a lot of SUVs you may notice the hybrid feels fast. Otherwise, an XLT is An XLT. The eCVT was a much easier transition than the CVT in my Accord. Two great choices, but if you are coming from the EcoBoost you really need to take a test drive… you’re losing a TURBO!
Also I am driving 4500mi/yr and I have not had a single issue even after occasional parking for 5-6 weeks. So far my 10.2k miles short trip driving has ticked up to 45.0mpg lifetime (not many hills here).

That’s interesting
You happy you got the hybrid then I assume

Just wonder if it would be worth it for me

You'll see some benefit at 5 mile trips. And a lot of benefit on 10 mile trips and more.

Need time to make up for cold start losses. If you could park in a 130°F garage all the time, 1 and 2 mile trips would be just as efficient as 5 and 10 mile trips.

Half the Mavericks have turbo boost.
Half the Mavericks have battery boost.

In the quarter mile they are nearly identical in every respect.

For the long haul, the turbo lasts for as long as you have gasoline.

The battery boost lasts about a mile.

But there's not many places you can push your foot to the floor for more than a mile at a time so.....

Me neither. Nor do I drive as much as I used to now that I've retired.

Your XLT may be worth a pretty penny as used Mavericks seem to have high value, though it's unlikely you would recoup any money in fuel savings with the hybrid for quite some time. If your drive to work is on the highways you really won't see that much of a running cost benefit, the real strength for the hybrid is in city/suburban driving.

Hybrid (FWD): 42 City / 35 Highway / 39 Combined
Hybrid (AWD): 40 City / 33 Highway / 35 Combined
2.0L EcoBoost (AWD): 22 City / 29 Highway / 25 Combined

I used to have a 2013 Escape Titanium (so, the 2.0 Eco AWD) two vehicles ago. Knowing the Maverick was a similar platform as the Escape made the decision to get some variant of the Maverick easy for me.

Test driving the Maverick ecoboost vs. hybrid, I felt that the ecoboost powertrain was much more like my old Escape - even in "Sport" mode the AWD hybrid is not quite as responsive as the ecoboost though it holds it's own in traffic and in daily driving the difference is not really anything to note.

Then there are the considerations that the 2.0 turbo engine is more "stressed" than the 2.5 Atkinson used in the hybrid and that the transmission in the hybrid is much more mechanically simple and should be more robust, not really things to worry about if you trade cars often (though in the 6 years I had the Escape, I had zero build quality mechanical issues with it - tires got worn commuting, the battery was undersized for Chicago winters so I put in a larger size, did the brakes myself not long before I traded it - that was about it).

The fuel economy and the fact that I now drive like the grandpa I am (mostly for errands and to go to the senior center for camaraderie and the inexpensive gym membership) swayed me to the hybrid. I've had it just under 3 weeks and each day I drive it I am more confident it was the right call. It is smooth and predictable for urban driving in Normal mode and has no problems getting up to speed when merging onto the highway. Current tripmeter is showing me 39 MPG with mixed highway and city driving and I do not hypermile, where the minivan was getting 17-19MPG depending on temperature and where I was driving (mountains and valleys here) even when I tried to be super gentle with it.

Still, it seems you've had your truck for less than a year so it's hard to recommend trading for a hybrid unless you can get a really great deal on both selling/trading the existing and the new purchase (unless of course the money is no object, then I'd say go and test drive one!).

Carvana shows 26,800
It only has 2,800 miles…bought new in Aug 25

I have a round trip to work of about 2 miles
Run up to the school to get my grandson. Another very short drive if the weather is bad. We walk and ride his bike times as well. Taking him to soccer practice about another few miles. Longest regular trip I do is groceries at about 30 miles round trip.

I didn’t think it would help me very much being very short drives….Im the type that always looks at vehicles….just have always been intrigued by hybrids. If I had one the battery warranty would be 8 yrs for sure. I’d probably only have 40,000 miles by that time

Not at all. I experimented with the driving modes the first couple of days but now I just leave it in Normal mode. I just hop in and drive like usual, it's remarkably comfy.

I think that is the exact use case for a hybrid, short urban driving.
I can 100% say the OP would LOVE a Hybrid....from what he is describing. I will never get an Eco Maverick if the Hybrid is still available. It's a no brainer....in some circumstances.

I think He would miss the power of the Eco Boost but for those short trips He'll get a lot better mileage with the Hybrid. The 1 thing I do hear a lot on Here is Hybrid Battery issues much more than the Eco Boost IMO.

He did say he wasn't a fast driver...I think. Says he drives easy these days. Don't think he'll "miss" the Eco power. :):):)
