Hybrid stopped gas pedal stopped working this morning

This morning I was driving to work (65mph cruise control, 45 degrees F outside, heated seats ON), out of nowhere I felt myself slowing down right after I went over a railroad track on the highway. As I was slowing down I noticed that my cruise control had turned itself off and when trying to turn it back on (pressing set+, set-, and the toggle CC on/off button) it wasn't responding. After realizing that setting my cruise control wasn't working I tried accelerating on my gas pedal but nothing was happening and I was still slowing down. I tried again and noticed that when I accelerated, the needle on the left side gauge wasn't going past the green battery section even when accelerating harder than normal. Everything in the vehicle seemed to be working properly as far as power steering, lights, breaking, dashboard, etc. Eventually I pulled over to the side of the road, put it in park, put it back in drive, and everything was fine for another 70 miles on the day.

Has anyone had an issue similar to to this? I also noticed today my carplay has been cutting out for half a second every now and again (im on a USB-C wired connection)

This sounds like something the NHTSC should know about so they can track the frequency of the event.

It has happened to me 6 times now since I've owned it (March, 2022). It happens when I have to rapidly accelerate. The ICE shuts down and the HV takes over. Engine light comes on and High Voltage Battery Fault warning. Sent the info to NHTSA. Two of the 6 times my wife was in the truck.... she no longer trusts the truck and won't ride in it. Not a good scenario since it's our main transport. Unfortunately, the dealer can't find the problem since by the time I can take it in, the trouble codes are gone. So, I'm left with few options, the one acceptable to my wife... get rid of it. It's a great truck, but I can't trust it to keep us both safe when it dies in the acceleration ramp of the interstates.

Hmm. I didn't get any warning lights or error codes. I wonder if this is the same issue

RE: "Dealer can't find..." The dealer should have a device to plug into the OBD On Board Diagnostic port that will capture the codes beyond what the car retains. It is a small black box slightly smaller than a cigarette package. Dealer should plug it in and leave it in your vehicle for awhile to capture codes.

That happened to me a month ago same thing only I was in a parking lot. Put in neutral and away it went, been good ever since.

Same thing happened to me today, but no engine light or error code. Put in park, and it worked again. Pretty concerning. Like, what if I had been turning left and the car just died? Pretty dangerous.
