I haven't been tracking it closely, but I believe Engine Coolant has been decreasing in the overflow tank.

On my last vehicle (Mazda 6), there was a vent tube on the overflow canister and it would evaporate over time, and had to be added. Does anyone know if the Mavericks is like this?

I have a strong sense of smell. No coolant smells inside or under the hood. I don't see any leaks, and if there were I could probably smell them.

Anyone have a good understanding of how the engine coolant level might change over time on the hybrid?

Anything to look for?

I attached pictures of the level (both hot and cold) and they are not much different.

I am going in for an oil change soon and I can see if they can top it off and I will watch the level.

It's sealed and pressurized - not an overflow tank like you are thinking, but part of the system.

Why it can change from cold to hot levels by a decent amount, hence 2 levels on tank.

Mine went down 1st year, bought a whole container just for some top off.

Oddly my strength went up on my 6 month maintenance check. Now I wish I'd just used some distilled water.

Oh - no pictures were attached.

Small amount probably won't matter - but might ask what they'll top it off with. Manual mentions the specs.
Just in case there is a warranty issue for a leak - might as well not have documentation listing the wrong fluid spec.

Take a sharpie and make a line on the tank at coolant level when cold.
Check it regularly. No more guesswork.

Good idea marking it on the paper work with what was used. Seems like there is a lot of confusion (even some by the dealers on what to top it off with.)

Sounds like a good thing to do after the dealer checks it out and tops it off.
Appreciated the suggestion.

I know this My 7-month-old Lariat Hybrid don't get hot in cold weather, in summer the gauge is at mid-point, since the cold weather came in the gauge is all the way at the bottom barely reading, I don't drive far but even after an hour of driving it's still in the blue just touching the white. Is that normal.

This post has to do with coolant level (the amount in the container under the hood). The gauge measures temperature.

I have a 22 Hybrid with about 63k mileage. My level dropped just below the low line last year. I filled it to get between the lines and had been holding steady. Just one person’s experience . I do check it regularly.

Good to know someone has a similar issue with no problems.
