Placed my hybrid XL order early October of 2021. Called my dealership today and they told me that ford has told them they won’t be scheduling any hybrid until further notice because of a hybrid Atkinson engine constraint?

This is the first time I’m hearing this. I know other dealers are scheduling the hybrids at 4 hybrid : 6 ecoboost ratio.

any thoughts or inputs? This is a dealership in Longisland NY

Dealers lie all the time. This just one of many.

Hybrids are being scheduled around 40 percent as you said. There are no further constraints. Ford looks like they might even increase hybrid production.

Ford is not taking any more hybrid orders until summer 2022, but they are still producing hybrids that have already been ordered. Maybe he got his information crossed?

I got an update call from my dealership and was told the same thing about constraints. Frankly, I thought that was in relation to them not taking hybrid orders until next year due to backlog. I'm not worried about it, and I also ordered early October. They did say that my order was already in so I should be good.

This is dumb. What possible reason could a dealer have for "Lying" about not being able to do an order?
Several examples on this site where the dealers are saying Ford cancelled the customer orders without reason when in actuality the dealer never placed the order correctly or they are trying to sell the car out from under them for a markup. Maybe that is the case here... telling the OP his hybrid is not coming in hopes that he will cancel his order and then they can sell it with a markup.

Cynical way of thinking, yes, but dealers have proven time and again they are not trustworthy sources of information.

You have the order # from Ford, this is so easy to verify.

How is this the first time you are hearing about this...

It's been a constraint item for like 3+ months now. They are scheduling hybrids but it's just at 40 percent of the total number scheduled. Many people ordered in August or even July and still are unscheduled

So you’ll abandon your order and they’ll get the truck in and add $10k on top of MSRP. Not rocket science.
if you have the order # from Ford, they cant really get away with that.

They said “constraint” as they are not scheduling ANY hybrids

Right, they probably just mean your build is delayed. Not surprising really. You have the order #, so just check with Ford.

Constraint just means a reduced number is schedule. Some items like spray in bed liners had a 3 percent constraint. Meaning of 100 percent of vehicles scheduled only 3 percent can have that option. The hybrid has been at 30-40 percent for months now. Which means ecoboost can be anywhere from 60 percent of orders scheduled to 100 percent but hybrid can only be right now up to 40 percent.

Ford did stop taking hybrid orders in November if I remember right. It's because they won't be able to produce enough by the end 2022 model year production in August/September. Basically if your order is October or November expect to get your vehicle no sooner than August or September possibly even into October depending on shipping times.
