This section is for vehicles with modifications, not questions
If there is no section specific to your question I’d think the general topics section….
Maybe the one talking about the bed mods since that is really the only place a 3 ton jack would fit?
I don’t think there is a section for jack related questions
ok i didn't realize i wasn't supposed to ask questions. maybe it should be outlined in the category. so basically its just a place to post your mods? not to ask about them?
thank you for helping

You have a link to this jack? Looks nice and compact!
I have had this one for about 30 years now. Mostly have used it to do the Oil Changes (have had very few flats, over the years Lucky me!) on my Rangers.

Sears model# = Companion 2-ton #9-50181
Update:
This unit is long out of production...

They are called, "Compact Trolley" jacks now.
Have seen this same design only in different colors (depends on who's selling it).
Just did a google search, cost is between $40 - $75.
Again, on who is selling it...

Jerry

Thanks for posting. I've had an identical jack for over 25 years. It was my Dad's.

Hey everyone, I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to store a heavy duty jack(not a bottle jack) in the maverick where its easily accessible. videos and pictures are very welcomed if you have this already accomplished.
Check Amazon they have some smaller floor jacks that are in a case. They give dimensions of the case. I have a hybrid and I believe the under seat storage may be big enough to store it there.

ok well maybe i understood this wrong then, i figured (Build/rigs) meant (build=accessories/rigs=DIY Modifications) if i posted in the wrong category then i apologize, i obviously thought it meant something else. you mind telling me what this category is actually for so i don't make the mistake again?
JBEN110 how did you get your article posted on this main page? I have no idea how to do it. I dids some mods on my Maverick and wanted to share with other members. No one can tell me how to post on the main news forum. I would appreciate it if you let me now how or where you went to post your question about a jack? Thanks.

I used to have a decent craftsman floor jack in a big plastic case. It probably would have fit nicely under the rear seat. Granted not as heavy duty as a bottle jack. Bottle jacks arent that stable but, they are compact and as heavy duty as it gets. If you are talking about a big 3 ton floor jack. I would put it at the front of the bed and take a board or piece of metal to make a custom fit piece to secure it using the flex bed slots. Or maybe just strap against the bulkhead with the tie downs.

yes i have a 3 ton floor jack, i don't like to use the jack that comes with vehicles since i work oncall and travel quite a bit i need to change a tire fast if i get a flat. the hack is about 2ft by 1ft by 6 inches tall without the handle.
i will be using the truck mostly for lumber in the bed. i wonder if it will fit in the under seat storage? or is the jack too small?
You still have to remove the tire from underneath the truck. That will take about 10 mins. Ain’t no easy job when it comes to changing out a tire.

it usually takes me about 3-5 minutes to change a tire depending on how easy it is to remove the spare. why would it take 10 minutes to be removed? from being exposed to the elements and rusting threaded mounts? looks to me like any standard truck spare mount
