The "steel cobra" or "billyclub" or a sap would work in most cases some of these cops are remarkably patient( except for the "good ol' boys-proper ettiquete is instant compliance and a "yessir or yes mam" would diffuse a lot of those fatal encounters,I swear I believe some of those cops love the chase,you know what there has never been a car that can outrun a radio,,cool down and arrest at the domicile( usually safer,then gunfire and high speed pursuit) truth be known its a wonder the system works as good as it does,perhaps anybody who wants to be a politician or LEO should be scrutinised very carefully.

My last 13 working years, I was the CM in our small community. I had 4 full-time Firemen and many volunteers. I had the same number of full-time Police Officers that were backed by reserve officers when needed. During my 13 years, no Police Officer or Reserve Officer discharge a weapon other than at the firing range. We did use many rounds from our tazers. All our Officers were trained continuously in techniques to de-escalate altercations with our fine citizens.
