The local bike park opened this weekend so it was time to see if we could get all our bikes in the back of our new Mav (AWD Lariat Lux, Fx4). I wasn't sure they'd all fit, but we got all 5 in -- 2 DH bikes and 3 trail bikes. There were no problems and we had room between them. I could prob fit 1 more if I put pads between the bikes and packed them in closer.

I don't know what tailgate pad we have -- picked it up at the local bike swap for $40 and it fits perfect. It does have the Fox logo on it, but that's all I know.

This truck is a bike-hauling machine! I love how the low sides make it easy to get the bikes in/out. The only thing is with all the bikes in the back there isn't a lot of room back there for our gear bags -- if we put our stuff in smaller bags it could fit in and around the bikes, but I'm still looking for a good solution.

Now we just need the snow to melt more so the park can fully open!

BTW, we got 28MPG on the trip to the bike park -- so much better than the ~16MPG we'd get in the F150 we used to take up there.

What Bike Park? Thinking a road trip might be in order when my truck arrives. Whitefish is on my to-do list.

My exact build and the exact reason I went with a Maverick!
We don’t have any places that need a shuttle (too flat here) but it is wonderful with the low lift over

Big Sky Resort is where we go as it's about an hour away. If you go to Whitefish, check out Legacy Bike Park -- I haven't done it yet but I've heard great things about it.

Nice! How are they mounted in the bed?

Gravity! And maybe a strap...
The center of gravity of the bikes is way inside the bed, so yes, gravity is enough and they stay put even on rough roads. The low sides of the bed make it easy to lift them in and out -- way easier than on the F150. This is the #1 reason we got a Maverick and so far we are thrilled with it!
