Thanks for the timely reminder-- we are going in for an oil change this week! 16,000 miles so far on ours, averaging about 30mpg (mixed city/highway driving). We love this truck.
The center of gravity of the bikes is way inside the bed, so yes, gravity is enough and they stay put even on rough roads. The low sides of the bed make it easy to lift them in and out -- way easier than on the F150. This is the #1 reason we got a Maverick and so far we are thrilled with it!
Big Sky Resort is where we go as it's about an hour away. If you go to Whitefish, check out Legacy Bike Park -- I haven't done it yet but I've heard great things about it.
The local bike park opened this weekend so it was time to see if we could get all our bikes in the back of our new Mav (AWD Lariat Lux, Fx4). I wasn't sure they'd all fit, but we got all 5 in -- 2 DH bikes and 3 trail bikes. There were no problems and we had room between them. I could prob fit 1...
After an 8 month wait our Maverick finally arrived (AWD, FX4, Lariat Lux) and I just wanted to give a shout out to the people at Kendall Ford in Bozeman -- they didn't try to give us any run around or jack up the price or anything and the whole experience was painless.
