How does the financing work?

Hey all. I been watching the Maverick since it was first announced. Still haven’t ordered one as I was hoping to actually “see” one before I made that commitment. Now that seems unlikely (I want a hybrid, but as I understand the first models won’t be delivered until Jan 2022 while they plan to stop orders w/i a few weeks.)

Just curious, but does anyone know how the financing arrangement will work? If you order online from Ford, does the local dealership handle the paperwork at pickup? And speaking of pickup, we know an order now probably wouldn’t get delivered until Spring ’22. Do they approve financing now, or wait till delivery? And how do they handle trade-ins?

Also, for those of you lucky ones that have (or have seen) a Maverick, what are the best color combinations? I’m thinking XLT hybrid in cactus gray??? What about factory wheels?

All good questions. I also want to add that I read a week ago that Ford was opening the floodgates for 0% 84 Months Financing for everyone. But my dealer has never heard of it. I will try to find an article a post it later. Has anyone heard of this?

If you order online you will have to select a dealership to deal with to placing your order. When you contact that dealership, or they contact you, then would be a good time to get your questions answered. After all they are the ones you will be doing business with.

You determine financing when the truck arrives at the dealer. My dealer said I didn't have to determine lease or finance until it arrived. I've also checked around at my credit unit for finance rates.

The announcement wasn't that Ford was offering 0% for 84 months although they did offer that for some models a year ago at the peak of the pandemic. The more recent news was that they weren't using a hard FICO requirement (but likely still using their own scoring metrics) for 84 month loans.

If you are wanting a hybrid you should order ASAP. I have read in a few places that in early November (vague timeline) that they will stop taking hybrid orders. I placed my order in August and made sure that I was under no obligation. If I don’t like it or want it for any reason, I just walk away. I was fortunate that my dealership required no deposit. As far as financing, it’s done when you pick up the truck.
