Are hood deflectors making the hood shake worse? I have minor hood shake when traveling at highway speeds. I've already had two rocks chip the windshield in the past 3 months and been looking into purchasing a hood deflector.
I don't know about hood rattle, but I had one Tacoma truck with a Lund bug protector that would rattle the windshield wipers when off.

Do these all mount with adhesive?

I went with the Textured one on the Ford Accessories site. I like the way it matches the texture of my XL grille.

It does cause some hood shake but nothing to worry about. Besides you should be looking well ahead of you as you are driving not watching the hood shake.

I think I may have found the one I've been looking for. One that actually deflects wind, therefore bugs and rocks over the windshield.

However, my current one on my Sport Trac mounts to the underside of the hood. This one has 3m tape that mounts to the top of the hood. Looking at getting some Clear film/PPF put on the front hood edge first.

Have a link, I thought this one had been removed from Ford website, possibly due to the hood shake?

Is the entire piece 3m adhered to the hood, or just a strip?

It looks like it extends to cover the front parts of fenders . others that I have seen only protect the hood and not the fenders . I like that it protects front edges of fenders from the pictures on their site .

Yeah there are a lot of items that used to be listed and are not anymore...

The double sided adhesive was the whole way around the perimeter so it’s stuck on there!

I really like the look of it and I will probably order another one when they come available again so I have it on hand if anything happens to my original.

Yes and as long as you do the prep they will stick very very well.
Do you know if they handle automatic carwashes well? I'd hand-wash but apartment living doesn't really afford me that option (easily).
Tired of getting pelted with all the crap the landscaper trucks fling all over the highway and I feel like it won't be long before my windshield gets it's first major chip/crack.

For liability reasons they say they aren't car wash safe. But I've had these for years and ran them through car washes many times without issue. Again it all boils down to doing the proper prep before you stick it.

The avs-bugflector-ii Arrived. Mounting holes did not match the factory holes. The Clips that came with the deflector were useless.( They Broke with little pressure) the Product had to be ground down in areas to ge a good fit. Mainly the ends tips. Then Holes in The avs-bugflector-ii had to be drilled to match the Hood holes. Thank God For Oreileys and Dremil hand tools. Its on and Snug Looks good, Just have some hand tool an a Autozone close.

I have liked this one when seen on pictures. I am not terribly keen on the Ford emblem in the corner. Is that a decal or can it perhaps be buffed off?
I bought that one for the XL I had. The Ford emblem wore out within a few weeks of having it on.
