Being up north and getting my mav back in late October as well as Covid lockdowns, I have only done short trips on local roads (20 min top drives). SO with this climate change thing going on, the temps spiked up to 15C where I live. As a result I took the maverick out for a extended cruse to the gas station (nice sun set too!). Decided to do an Italian tune up with the turbo in sport mode around a tight corner onramp to the highway. Speed recommendation (yellow sign) is 35km/h. I hit 80 and the AT tires where not even squealing! holly crap! Whish the seats where bolstered in the sides like my wifes Subaru though as I was sliding around in my seat pretty good.

Yes this is the 2.0 EB AWD with 4k tow.

with the AWD you get independent rear suspension

4k tow gives you 3.83 gear ratio which gives you better acceleration

But hey I got 4k and plan on a tune among other upgrades, hopefully there will be a tune that helps with the lack of sport mode.

Thats more or less the plan, dont have much experience modifying modern vehicles so didnt want to attempt to explain further. My hands on performance experience is in carbs, cams, compression, and such.

I suppose all the tuners are essential using their experience plumbed into forscan or something like it. No reason not to do it all.

I have the hybrid and too enjoy taking corners at speeds like I did with my car. Its one of the pleasant surprises of the Maverick.

It is very, very fun in Normal and Sport mode. The stiff suspension has its positives in corners...

You can add sport mode very easily with forscan.... There are steps on how to do it in the form:

Alright so I got the extra off road modes working on my non fX4 maverick.

- got this obd2 adapter:
- pluged in the USB on my laptop and installed the proper driver following the instructions (CH340)


- Downloaded this version of Forscan:
https://forscan.org/download/FORScanSetup2.3.47.test20220210.exe

- after install right click on desktop icon then properties then select "run as administrator" and "run in windows 7 compatibility mode" then click OK

Launch

installed the software then loaded the 2 month free license:

Went to my truck and DID NOT PRESS BRAKE and pushed the on button
connected the OBD2 adapter to the truck then plugged in the usb cord
**note** if you have the 400w plugin inverter, it will NOT power the laptop till the engine is running. Might want an extension cord if you have a bad laptop battery

- relaunch Forscan then click on the connect icon (bottom left) and follow instructions.

- After all the modules have loaded, follow these instructions:

- after you have entered in all the modes you need, press the start button to turn off the truck and open the door then close it and wait 30 seconds.

- start the truck and see if you have all the modes LIKE MUD/RUTS AND SAND
