Wow, my truck was 26,200 out the door.
On 11/12/25, taking off from a light, 25 to 30 m.p.h., a lady crossed into our lane, hit us head on with her car, into our drivers side, no airbag deployed on Mav.,hers did deploy, she backed up off of Mav , and we thought she was pulling off road, but ran.
Police came took a report, during that time a Good Samaritan came, said he followed the car, found it's resting place and made identity of women and car. Officer went and ticketed her for,hit and run, leaving scene of accident, and no license, not sure about insurance on car.
Needless to say truck is at body shop for estimate and repairs.
It was a wonderful thing the person who followed the hit, and run driver did by calling the police, and getting that person who hit you caught. I dought they had insurance, or a license. Ever though you truck has frontal damage, your insurance company should't hold you any part responsive for the accident. (not raise your cost)
My driver side $5,800 adjuster estimate went to $12,722.00 plus 7 week rental car plus $2,140.00 diminished value check from at fault drivers insurance on my 2022 first edition Lariat. Initial adjuster estimates are just to authorize discovery by at fault ins company.
I thought that the police could have still drawn blood and with determine the current alcohol level and work back to the time of the accident and figure out BAC. I wish could remember who told me that.
It was that she could say that she had a drink AFTER she got home and they couldn't prove alcohol level at time of drive!
They should call them guesstimates
Oh that's true, I didn't consider that fact...oops! Still sucks, I hope she gets help because this time it was a fender bender and minor injuries, next time it could be fatal!

Uninsured, no license. Driving under influence. But since she took off, by the time police got to her home they could not arrest her for dui. We had uninsured motorist insurance as well , so we are good.
