Yes, since I am a retired white collar guy with no knowledge whatsoever of welding, etc., I am thinking that instead of the six feet apart plain, no cradle TrakRak I have now on my Ranger I may just have to spend the bucks and get four foot apart Thule racks with cradles. As I may have said above, my usual drive to launch my kayak is less than two miles.
Possibly something like this with roof rack more towards front of truck

Thanks MakinDoForNow ! this might be the best for me and "minimal modifications!" Curious as to how the single roof rack attaches to the cab roof and curious as to how the rack towers attach to the Maverick's bed. My Ranger and TrakRak just sits on top of the bed's rails and even for me was an easy install.
