Hey Ford, can moving the transmission range switch to the Cubby be done?

Hey Ford, I’m not an auto engineer but as a fan of the Mav, will you create an option for all models wherein the transmission selector is moved to the Cubby with a drop-in selector switch with buttons for each range offered? Suggest angled to the driver keeping displayed range on the dashboard. Seems easy enough, what’d you say, Ford? Everyone? Anyone?

Honestly, I think you could almost certainly move the existing dial up to the cubby. Just would take rerouting the wiring and making it look nice.

I saw someone post a DIY solution for the drive modes (not exactly the same but similar) where they had a small microprocessor that you could set to trigger whatever number of pings you wanted, essentially setting a new default drive mode. For example 2 electrical pings might have been eco, 3 pings sport, etc....

That looks like the one I was thinking of.
Thanks for the reference video and yes, Cuban Redneck provides the knowledge base to move the transmission range selector, but I’m not the guy who could do it myself. Same thing installing Buscher’s oil separation can, got the dealership to do it. Appreciate both of your comments and now will live with the current layout.

Good idea, as a Ford technician I can't stand the rotary switch in the console, thought it was stupid when Chrysler first introduced it and of course Ford had to follow. Great place for an electronic switch( it is actually a module-the GSM/ gearshift module)and I replace plenty of them that get coffee, soda, shakes and water spilled in them and short or stop functioning....I'm just wondering, if you could move the switch, would the hole left in the console where the switch was be the right size to hold your girlfriends WhiteClaw??:ROFLMAO:
