Hey folks,
Long term Maverick fan, new owner. Ordered back on July 17th, took delivery December 26th (Merry Christmas to me!)

Bought a 2024 XLT FX4 4k tow and Lux package.

So far I've added an Amazon hard trifold tonneau cover, Smartliner floor mats, an organizer in the center console, wireless charging phone mount, cargo net, tie downs, and a home made 2x10 bed separator.

I have a tailgate bike pad on order, as well as a shock for the rear tailgate. Plans are to add a Rhino rack roof rack in the spring for the kayaks (two sea kayaks, one 14ft one 17 ft so most bed options are out)

Looking to see if there is anything major I'm missing, or something I should really look at.
I tow a small teardrop camper, or a small fiberglass fishing boat.
I'll roof top kayaks or a canoe frequently
I bike a lot
Hunt, fish, camp, hike, etc A LOT. Very outdoorsy person, dad of kids so all the kid stuff comes along too.

Not looking to drop her as I like the ground clearance I have, not looking to lift her as I'm hearing about CV issues. Not trying to make her into a rock crawler either :-D Just looking to make an all over awesome Maverick for me!

Any suggestions/ideas?

Maybe mudflaps? Might keep your doors a little cleaner?

I always see those on the side of the back roads ripped off :-D I dont think those are for me, but a membership at my carwash is a definite idea. Thanks!

we get awesome gas mileage with kayak racks on wood frame sitting in the bed. Kayaks hang out a bit but brake lights are still plenty visible, easy to load/unload.

Someone posted how they put a cable lock inside the rear side of the bed, so it's easy to lock bikes.

I'd love to see a picture if you have one. Like I said the concern for me is the short kayak is 14 feet, the long one is 17 ;)

Hybrid was the base engine so mine was quite a bit cheaper. I had some extra budget for the cap/topper. On yours, it's just a much nicer, capable vehicle. I would not have the budget left for a 3k cap. If you can fit everything in, maybe no need. I got about 7 camping trips in last year with the hitch bike rack and topper.

Cheap $200 roof rack and hitch extender could take care of the kayaks or carry a roof box for trips..

So I am only on my second week with the truck, is the glass easily/often hit by debris and bugs? Sell me on this idea if you could. I'd love more information. Thanks!
The Mav is a rock chip magnet! I had 2 windshield chips in the two months before the deflector and none in the 22 months after.

I looked at making a wood bed divider and decided it was too big/intrusive. Instead I got a pair of ratcheting cargo bars. Even the cheap one from harbor freight works well. With two you can position them to keep stuff from sliding around but they don't take up much space if you need them out of the way.

Not too worried about cargo space. Most camping trips are either minimalist (IE out of a kayak, or out of a backpack) or are out of the teardrop camper. In that case I have all the cargo space of the bed, and the camper as well. Thanks for the idea though!

Use your Ford points and get the lift gate dampner/soft opener thing! Hands down the most needed thing if you're in and out of the bed a lot with kids!
