Loaded up the hybrid last Saturday morning, grandkids' bikes in back, with food for 13, from Columbia, SC to the Outer Banks. Adaptive cruise worked well on I95, but it got tricky when the southbound lane was closed due to a wreck, and we started having gawkers going north. A couple of times we had sudden slow downs, triggering the pre collision warning. I am learning that if you cruise at 80, leave more room between yourself and car ahead. No crash but close calls. Brakes worked fine. Loaded down, we managed 36mpg by the time we reached Nags Head. The seats were comfortable. My wife did not like the size of the gas pedal, and had to move the seat up close to easily approach the pedals below. The AC was comfortable on automatic, and the sound system was plenty good enough. The B & O with 8 speakers is not as good as the B & W in the Volvo, but the vehicle price points are much different. But the B & O is not so bad that you want to rush out to upgrade. The truck is small enough to easily make a 3 point turn or back in to a tight spot. The Fordpass lets you crank it up to cool off before leaving. Overall, a great first experience as we are enjoying the beach house.

Hello and welcome to MTC. Congratulations with your new Maverick. Sounds like not only liking the new truck it seems to not only exceed your expectations but has come in handy for you and the family. Appreciate your post but would have liked to seen a picture of your new Maverick. If you have an opportunity, snap a pic and attach it to the thread. I'm sure others are interested in seeing your Maverick as well.

Will do. It is wedged behind all our kids' vehicles. Pop and Grandma arrive first. We plan to be here through Friday.

Enjoying the trip. Went to ACE Hardware to fix a beach chair. The Maverick did 46mpg on the 25 mile trek and back, at 55 mph (lots of blue lights here).
