I'm also getting in line for the updated version I noticed the included power cable specified that parking mode is not supported. So for that feature I'd need a fuse box power cable, correct? Is there a specific part number I'd need for my 2025 Lariat?

The parking monitoring mode is only available when powered via either the OBD cable or fuse box power adapter (you only need one of the two). No other cables support this function.

Just to add to what support mentioned for your 2025 Lariat—no special part number needed for the new version either. It's universal across all Mav model years.

For the Maverick, definitely stick with the fuse box kit instead of OBD to avoid any battery drain issues.

It seems the fuse box cable may be easier to install than the standard supplied cable. Does the fuse box cable eliminate the need to remove the cover of the driver assist camera? If so, I think I'd like to leave that cover alone and simply run the fuse box cable.

The fuse box power wiring solution is relatively easier to install, but the cover still needs to be removed. Removing the cover is mainly to hide the cables and achieve clean, tidy wiring.

It can go both ways, though.

In one of my final cases, as old clients kept coming up with things to put it off, one was hit.

The kid that did it not only lied, but got his cousin to lie. They claimed my client swerved out to the right of his lane while he was making a left turn (while in fact the kid swerved left).

In my initial contact, I demanded preservation of the black box from the offending vehicle--which put a hold on the vehicle entirely.

They accepted liability pretty much the next day.

I don't know if the maverick has such a box (not my normal areas of practice; there was a conflict referring this where I normally would have sent it), so make sure it's an expensive car that hits you!

I just installed this frt and bk on my ‘24 Mav and it’s easy as pie. Seemless- connection to harness makes this so easy. However, if you want parking mode then you need to wire to fuse box. That’s wasn’t essential in my case.
My other recommendation is to use 2K on frt bc, 4k is interpolated.

Where did you run the rear camera wire? Along the the side near the side curtain airbags? Or by chance did you try and fish it straight back above the headliner? I’m hoping to run mine above the headliner.

I thought about fishwiring, but pillar A & B were fairly simple. I ran mine at the top of pillar A driver side, then across top headliner to the top of pillar B and headliner to center. Just be cautious of the airbags.

@Mangoal_Support i am reading through the user manual before installing my cameras and trying to decide if installing the fuse box power adapter is worth it. I like the idea of my cameras recording when I’m parked while out shopping somewhere. But according to the manual it only starts recording if the truck is hit hard enough such that the impact reaches the preset g-sensor sensitivity level. So I’m wondering how hard of a hit is that going to take? Will just a minor bump into my bumper do it? Or does it have to be a pretty hard impact? I would love any MTC members thoughts on this too.

Mainly two reasons: heat and runtime.

Summer windshield temps easily hit 150°F+, which degrades or swells lithium batteries fast. That's why most dashcams use supercapacitors instead.

Also, a 2000mAh pack only gives you about an hour or two of recording. OBD or fuse box hardwiring uses the truck's 12V battery with low-voltage cutoff, so you get much longer parking protection safely.

@Mangoal_Support one more question for you. If I decide to hook up the GPS, do I have to put it on the front dash? Can I not run the wire to the back and adhere the gps puck to my rear window near the rear camera instead? Or will it not get a GPS signal positioned vertically that way?
