Hi everyone

Been lurking here for about a week, we are waiting to take ownership of a 2025 Maverick Lariat Hybird AWD in Oxford White with 4k towing. It was delivered on the 24th, I sniped this before it was delivered at another dealer, which is also owned by the dealer I normally deal with. The deal is done just waiting for the PDI and detailing to be done. The Hybird Lariat's are really hard to get your hands on one in my area, I did a search in my area out to 200KM away and this was the only one that had the Hybird & 4k.

I very familiar with the 2.5 Hybird engine as I have been driving a 2023 Escape Platinum AWD with the same engine, love the gas mileage. No plans on towing much other than a small utility trailer but the 4k add's resale value down the road if I decide to trade or sell. The Escape does 5.3 - 5.8 L/100Km combined so hoping the Maverick will get the same or close to the same.

Funny how the days seem to be longer when your waiting for something like this :p

Not a golfer but we do have some nice courses around the Island for sure, however this summer has been a dry one so not sure what they are looking like at this point.

Your hybrid should get the same as ours, 5.8l/100km city and 6.9l/100 km highway.

You will be able to easily surpass the city rating if you want too, and will still get grest mileage if you don't. Just remember, pulse and glide at lower speeds around town to maximize your little batteries stored energy.

Read your e-manual (you can search for and download it online ahead of time), it will help you when you shiny new Mav arrives!

Any questions search here, many queries are already well covered but any questions, there are many here to help.

Welcome, from Andy in sunny Manitoba!

Safteyguy - we have downloaded the PDF copy of the manual, not much in there other than some specific truck stuff that my Escape doesn't have. Actually the Escape has some things I wish the new Maverick had, like the auto dimming rearview mirror, memory seat pos, & fog lights. But I think I can live without those, and I may later try installing a auto dimming mirror.

It is a good idea to familiarize yourself with the manual, as you might have lots of questions like:

"the driver or maybe the passenger door locks all by itself", that might be the manual door lock ummm...conveniently positioned where people can bump it, right by the door latch. Just an example of course...

There are many threads here with so much info, but you have to ask the right question...this is where using the google search can help.

I know I added the method on how to adjust the fuel mileage calculation for the 2025 Lariat, to one of the threads here, after all hope was lost, as it is usually optimistic. Just give it a couple thousand kms to break in before adjusting it too much.

I know I was overwhelmed, moving into it from our last Subaru. Just takes time, reading and then searching here...and some of the items to add to the truck kicks in.

:)

I love all my friends up in Canada but I’m always confused by the mix of metric and US increments. Don’t you mean the 1,814.37 KG Tow Package, instead of the 4K tow package?
haha.

Congratulations on your Maverick, regardless of whether you put gallons or liters in it, my friend.

Metric is more logical then Imperial measurements to me...but I grew up with both so am comfortable with both (and if I have a calculator handy to switch between the American gallon...3.78 liters to an American gallon...4.5 liters liters to an Imperial gallon...62 miles are in 100 kms...) etc.

It might be "jumping the shark", to try to get America to switch...but you never know I suppose.

I'm ok with either, but things would be much easier if we all were on one system. That said, those of us mechanical types currently need both size wrench's/tools. Heck, even some vehicles have BOTH metric and SAE, which can be a pain. But I don't think we will ever change over. We can't even get the congresscritters to agree on NOT changing the time twice a year, and how easy is that?
