Heater Settings affecting MPG

I ran the heat for a week or so and also saw the MPGs drop. Wife likes cold so she doesn't turn anything on but some defog from time to time, I wear a hat and a jacket and here in SC it's already getting away from winter temps.....

To OP. Yes of course the engine runs way more. Yes your MPG will drop quite a bit. On mine Still way higher than last smaller suv I had.

Do you have the service manual for the hybrid?. Is that were the illustration came from? How much was service manual if that is what that is from?

As i mentioned in my post, i turned off the heat in the cabin, did not see any change.

I believe even if the heat is off and the battery is needing to warm up it run the engine more than on a summer day.

I have to run the defroster at the start of my morning so my ICE runs more at the start. I turn the defroster off after the window is completely clear (~5 minutes), but the ICE will still run for a bit longer until the battery has been warmed up. Then I turn the heat back on if needed after I have been on the highway about 15-20 miles.

My commute is ~66 miles. In the morning I average about 35-38 mpg when it is about 30F and my commute home is 40-43 mpg @ 50F.

Can't wait for 60F days!

Slightly off topic, but I really wish the entertainment console allowed for customization of the buttons. I would 100% replace the button for this screen with the Apps or Settings button.

Just curious- I have a 24 Lariat hybrid and have never seen that image on my screen. Is this from a 25 model or is there a setting/button I need to hit for it to display?
