Any Maverick owners out there upgrade their rear coils to a heavier duty set up like the ones in the link below? If so, what are your thoughts?

HD Coil Springs

I know these trucks aren’t meant for “hauling” but seems like a low cost upgrade to the rear suspension that could help with sag when carrying heavy loads.

I know airbags are also available for the maverick.would be interesting to know the cost/ differences between the 2 choices.

I guess if you carry a lo tit would be worth it, but since mine is almost always empty I'd just be riding around with my butt in the air.

Another option is timbren bump stops. About $250. They worked very well in my previous trucks. I bought cheap universal ones for my Maverick, since my truck is lowered on coilovers. The timbren bump stops are for stock suspension. I had 1000lbs in my bed on Saturday, it only sagged 1 inch.

I’m actually having Firestone coil rite airbags installed later this month. They were cheaper than the HD coils. But curious what the effect would be if you combined airbags and HD coils. Overkill maybe?

Never overkill. My universal bump stops were $20 on Amazon. Installed in 20 minutes or less by me. I'm kinda cheap. But I put 1200lbs with lowering springs. Now I have coilovers so it's lower. So I'm only putting in around 1000lbs now. Good luck with your set up.

How did the Firestone Coil-rite air bags work out for you ? Do you have any pictures?

They work great! I had them installed in the stock suspension and they really helped with heavy loads and squat. But now I have them installed in HD Eibach PLK rear coils. There’s a little over an inch lift at the rear so the airbags don’t support as much as they did in the stock suspension. But they still help with sway or bounce in the suspension with heavy loads. (Pics attached - black is stock with coil rite bags / silver is the Eibach PLK with the same airbags swapped over)
