I know some have gone larger than stock and used A/T tires such as a BFG KO2 or a larger Wildpeak AT3W.

But regardless of what size tire, has anyone put a tire on their Tremor to try to improve highway MPG?

I have not. What mileage are you getting?

Well that's just stupid. Sorry... mean, I know. But why waste more money to lower a 4x4 vehicle and slap bigger wheels on it thus removing literally the only reason the Tremor was made. You just removed 99% of the 4x4 capability. They would have been better served with an AWD if anything. Literally nothing special about the Tremor other than the extra ground clearance and 4x4.

Are you certain it's an actual Tremor and not just badges?

I love a good lowered truck, but lowering a Tremor is just dumb.

Yes, I'm sure. He posted pics of the before & after. No idea if he deleted the skid plates, they're just extra weight for a lowered street truck.

This truck probably would be very good for track days and autocross since you could force the PTU (center diff) into 50/50 locked, instead of it trying to go FWD anytime you're not accelerating hard, and if you're cornering at the limit, the torque vectoring rear differential unit would definitely be a benefit.

Unfortunately I think that without a front limited slip, it could have wheelspin on corner exits. You also would need a tune for track days to remove the speed limiter.

FWIW, my experience over the past year shows that the Maverick loses A LOT of fuel economy between 60 and 70 mph. Like, maybe 10 MPGs.

In my case, I have a lifted FX4 with oversized 245/70/17 tires. If I set the cruise to 60 on a flat freeway I can still get 26-27 MPG. However, at 70-75 mph that becomes like 18-19 MPG. Add in hills, headwinds, etc., and it all takes a toll.

Don't focus on my raw numbers as much as the principles. Like I said, my truck is modded and the added ride height, bigger tires and the rack I have in the back I am sure make my truck less fuel efficient than the average. That said, when it comes to MPGs, SPEED KILLS!

Yep 50-60 is the sweet spot for me too. When I'm in ID the speed limit is 60 on the same kind of raods where I live in Montana - which is 70 - and my MPG will easily be around 28 with the 245's just by slowing down 10mph. It was 30 (on the dash) for the drive home when I bought the truck for that reason (from WA though ID to MT). At 70 my MPG is around 25 and there is nothing that will improve it. If I take a trip in the opposite direction, staying in MT where the speed limit is 70 but I go 60 I get the same results. Much better MPG usually about 28. It's one reason why winter driving actually gets better MPG for me on some trips. It's at a lower highway speed.

I just wish we had two lane highways instead of single lane ones, so people could pass easily since everyone is in such a rush to get to the same destination (usually a stop for road work lol) 5 minutes earlier.
