Not with a factory backup camera. I use an aftermarket one on my trailer as a rear view mirror.

Thanks Richard, my son has a 4 yr old Ram which is factory abled with a button that allows the reverse screen to be used when moving forward.

I have actually used it to check as my garage door closes. Only when I see the neighbors little dog running around. The little thing (if she's loose) will come running down the back alley, If she see's my truck to say "Hi"..
An then, follows the truck into the garage..

I don't what to "Squish" the little thing..

I was looking at wider rear view mirrors that used two or three cameras to provide "vista view".

Too blurry. I just use the exterior mirrors.

There is a setting called "camera delay".

If you turn this "on" it keeps the rearview camera on when moving forward up until about 5 mph in the forward direction.

Not what you want, but a free step in that direction. And would help the guy with the dog.... you can slowly creep away (under 5 mph) while keeping the camera on looking for the dog.
