I would like my dash cam to use the park mode feature which requires hard wiring to the fuse box in the passenger side of the Maverick. I have the hard wire kit with three wires (ground, constant power, and ACC for only when the car is running). My question is does anyone know which fuse provides constant power? I know a meter would tell me, but as fate would have it, the new one I purchased from Harbor Freight doesn't work and I'm in the middle of an install. I can figure out which fuse turns off when the car is off. By the way, does it matter whether I plug into a 5A or 10A fuse?

Long overdue update: Dash cam successfully installed.

Plug your phone into the USB side of the fuse tap. If it starts charging then you know it's hot. I would use a 5A fuse if it's just for the dash cam only. A typical dash cam draws a somewhere between a quarter to half an amp.

Check your fuse diagram. Something related to the power locks or interior lights is usually a good candidate for being always on. The fuse for the 12V outlet could be a possibility for ig/acc.

Thank you.

Did you ever determine which are ACC? I've got a dash cam that needs installing and I'd sure like to know which ones you used.

Edit: Just noticed you are in Southern Indiana. I'm in the Rockport area. Maybe I've seen you on the road.

Here's a photo of my fuse panel. I've circled the two wires from the cam, but I do not remember which one should be acc and which one was for constant. Black, of course is for ground and you should be able to find one in that area. Clearly, your cam might be different.

You can look on a fuse diagram (in your manual) to see what these fuses power. Hope this helps a bit.

By the way, I'm in Southern California, not Indiana ways, but I'm sure if I was we'd have a beer together.

Many thanks. I can work with that.

How the heck did I get confused about your location??? Anyway, if we do ever meet the beer is on me!
