Bummer. Had my first "We don't have that model in our system yet" problem.

Went to Les Schwab (chain of tire centers in the West/SouthWest) to see if they could mount my snow tires on the new rims I bought. Purchased both somewhere else, but needed them mounted. Of course they were happy to do it. But when I mentioned I also needed TPMS sensors, they clicked and clacked at their keyboard and said they don't have the Maverick in their parts database yet. Said I would have to go buy the TMPS from a dealer and bring them to Les Schwab if I wanted them installed. I tried to tell them that the TPMS is the same as on many other Ford models, but they were super wary of believing me. Ohh well....went home to buy some Motorcraft sensors off Amazon..... Will head back down there whenever the sensors show up.

How on earth do they not have a universal model that should be programmable to the maverick is beyond me. Discount tire has done that for me on several cars.

They were really insistent on not using a knockoff. I told them I knew the frequency needed, etc.... The manager said he was not comfortable using some random manufacturer since there is more to it than just the frequency used. I didn't want to push it, so said I would be back when I had the sensors.

Here is the fun part. I don't even have a Maverick yet. So when I have them mount the tires, I don't really have a way to even verify the sensors are working/have a good battery in them. Unless Les Schwab has a re-learn tool that itself has a self contained indicator that the sensor sent a signal, I am flying blind until my Mav shows up and I try to re-learn the new tires to the truck. I will cross that bridge when I come to it I guess.....worst case scenario is I have to get one or more un-mounted to replace the sensor.

My local Toll Road authority doesn't list the Maverick yet as of August. So my Maverick is an "other". Probably will be forever because I can't be bothered to go in a check to see if they've updated their system

Well, at least I have the speed of Amazon on my side. Ordered some Motorcraft brand OEM sensors Thursday afternoon and they delivered this morning. Appear to be legit and not knockoffs..... "Bagged Date" on 3 of them was last August and the 4th was last October. No way to know for sure if they are dead until I have my Maverick to re-learn them to.

Ran all the parts back to Les Schwab and they seemed more willing to make it happen. Haha. I tried to explain to the guy that whoever I talked to earlier this week claimed their system did not know what sensors to use on a Maverick (we checked both 2022 and 2023), and that if he had the ability to add the info manually to their central database, that I had verified via the Motorcraft site which mode number/frequency sensors are needed for a Maverick. He seemed confused and kept saying that they would be happy to "relearn" them to my Mav when it arrived. I gave up on trying to explain. But he was excited to hear I was getting a Maverick. Said he used to work at Ford (I am guessing in the service department) and asked if I had been waiting over a year yet. He knows....

$40 bucks on amazon is really not bad... curious though could you just not run them on your snow tires if only a few months? They went bad on my mazda and i just never replaced them. They wanted like $40 a piece at the time.

Yeah, could have just run without them. But would have had the annoying warning on the dash. Was it worth the cost to have the light not annoy me? Maybe. I figure do it all now at the point when the tires are off the rims versus deciding later on that I want TPMS sensors and having to pay for an un-mount, TPMS install, then re-mount/re-balance fee.
