Yup, They get allocations based off of previous sales. Also If they dont have allocations for dealer stock; they will wholeheartedly take a retail order in hopes that you will not pick it up! So as you stated can sell it with the ADM of their choice! Slimy? Yessir! Very. But It seems that you have already figured out your dealer.
I was the same way; I was naive too! This forum explained to me. I took it and went to @Granger Ford . Never ever have I had such an easy purchase. I had all financing and documentation done before I got there. I was at Granger for MAX 15 mins; before driving away with my new Maverick Lariat!

Again Shelby can get you all the numbers before you digitally sign anything. Shelby and Chip were in contact with me all the time.
Chip is the guy I dealt with so far. Actually only had I conversation with him. The rest were emails. He did mention Finance would handle the tax stuff. Looks like I should give Shelby a call tomorrow. Thx.

Unfortunately, we have no idea what any future tariff will impact the price of any vehicle out of Mexico. That would be my concern with a non refundable deposit.

Prolly the New Year. That money goes to IOWA DMV for the TEMP tag. I still have mine. Ill go out to the truck soon and look. Again I remember its good for 30 days of driving the trucket from the time of pickup. @Granger Ford ; Can you verify my short memory? ANd can you elaborate on the increase of cost?

Well, that will take a while for it to get passed in the House and Senate. NO POLITICS. But Maybe FORD needs to come back home.

You have a point there. That sure is a possibility if Trump follows through with tariffs. If I had the option I would not go forth with the transaction if 20% was added to the price...... but if I stand to lose $500 it would make it a tough call.

Trump claims and immediate tariff probably with an executive order bypassing congress. Will have to wait and see before and non refundable deposit.

Remind you with respect to what? The transit tag is $65. I screwed up, not $68. That's no problem. We'll worth it for 30 days. As I recall my NC registration is something like $46 and title around $75. Then of course tax is 3% of vehicle price. I think they call it a yearly highway use tax. We get a property tax bill every year for our vehicles based on appraised value. Be nice if they handle all that stuff then I won't spend hours in line at the privately run DMV tag office. ..... and I don't think any visit required to the NC government run Licensing DMV. Both are very inefficient operations in my area. Not sure if I have to have a NC State inspection since it is new but it is usually required prior to registration here.

@Dakota,
I was in the same boat as you. I emailed Chip back and forth a few times. I asked about the deposit and asked that I get it refunded if the truck doesn’t show up for say- 7 months. He couldn’t give me a good reply but said when they place the order it is usually a few months. So I took a chance And sent them $500

That was in Sept.
My truck was built last week.
It is showing shipped due to arrive in another week.

Therefore, I had planned and hoped for a March delivery. I’m going to have it in January.

For me, it’s been the easiest vehicle purchase I’ve ever made.
Of course I don’t HAVE the truck yet but it’s a real truck on a rail car somewhere between here and Albuquerque

Buying from Granger was easy for me, the only car I have bought from a dealer in my life that was not a stressful experience, and I drove away happy. The salesperson was honest via email, the vehicle was what they said, and the price was what they said. Only thing I got grilled on was the extended warranty, which I did not know is actually a really good deal for long term owners, although it was pushed because they wanted to work it into the loan. I just reflexively said no, but will buy the warranty on my own before the 12 month mark though Granger.

I did finance through them to get the $1k discount, and had no trade in, but the finance rate was the same I could get on my own.

As a nice bonus I got to drive back through central Iowa in the fall as the colors were turning on the rolling hills of Iowa's back roads, and that was actually really nice, too.

I'm leaning towards chancing it as well.
Thats great everything worked out for you as expected and you are getting it early. 5-6 months from order to delivery is what I'm hoping for as I want to wait until early May or so to get past the winter weather. I'm hoping the finance folks give me a heads up a week or two prior to pickup so I can walk in with a certified check for the amount due. Given I'm about 16 hrs away I certainly don't want to carry cash and I won't have a branch out that way to issue a check. Best of luck to you!

be aware, he may of been talking about inventory on lot, only pre orders get this discount.
I think it was on the F-150 forum where a woman posted a hysterical rant (which was hysterically funny!) calling granger criminals because they wouldn't giver her the 4% under invoice on their vehicles in inventory.

The economics of orders and inventory are just fundamentally different.

And granger doesn't seem to do so bad off of the handful of people that don't pick up, either. Good for them.

You’re price protected. They told me the price I agreed to is the price I paid even if tariffs. In that situation they would refund

I had a phone call with them over this but this is why I placed order immediately

and I messaged them on here, and they also assured me the price I signed is the price I pay. Tariff or not.

I think people are going to hike prices in fear of tariffs

the @Granger Ford means I am asking them; not you. Sorry for that; Its okay. When you see that in the forums the @whomever they are tagging the person or entity or asking them to chime in.
