Got my '23 XLT way sooner than expected!

Our Mav was ordered Sept. 16th. We brought her home on Friday, Dec 30th. Going in today to do paperwork and write a big check. Hybrid, hot pepper red, XLT, moonroof. Husband has worked at this Ford Dealership since 1992, so D-plan pricing. I too was expecting a spring delivery. Happy new year for us!

Wait one moment... Did I read this correctly? You ordered in September of 2022... two thousand and twenty two... not 2021 and it was a hybrid and you have it at the end of December.

How is this possible?

Good for you and I'm hoping for me too but I'm thinking a lot of folks are going to be wondering why they are waiting a year or more for an order that was placed a year earlier and yours turned in 6 months.

That’s wild you got yours so fast! Good for you! Right place, right time I guess.
It’s almost like they just pick names out of a hat and you just so happened to win the lottery! Ford’s ordering system is terrible.
There should be a system where they are built in relative order of when the order was placed so someone who ordered after someone else, doesn’t get built first.
It doesn’t seem to make any sense.
It’s all based on luck basically it seems!

Shortages are real, and manufacturing the Hybrid is a five dimensional craps game. When the correct parts bins are full, your truck gets built. Then the Ford allocation system causes your build to be shipped to another dealer!

I first came to MTF to see if anyone anywhere had ever received a Hybrid. Then months later, I noticed that a lot of people who ordered after me got deliveries before me. It made me sad, but when my order was delivered after 14 months, I was very happy.

I think it is an excellent sign that some of the MY23 Hybrid orders are being delivered very quickly. It may be that all the parts bins are full, and a FLOOD of new MAVERICKS will be delivered in this first quarter. And everybody gets their new truck!!!

Nice that you got your Maverick … but this pretty much cements the fact that Ford is just an awful company … I really liked the CEO … but things have not improved under him. I would sell my shares of Ford stock, but the price of the stock now stinks as well.

It’s really a small number of folks that Ford is treating poorly, so it may not have a large effect on the business. What sold me on Ford stock was the fact that CEO Farley is really trying hard to get the dealers not to gouge customers who ordered and waited for high demand products… but that has been a hard sell to a few greedy dealers. He also wants to improve quality, which is low middle compared to other car companies. He was all in on the EV market early and I liked that too. I bought shares over the last 4 years so I do have some low cost shares in the mix. One only has to look at Tesla to see how fast perceptions of stock worth can change when public sentiment changes.

I think EVs are not viable in the long term due to the scarcity of materials, but all car makers are being pressured to build them. What I like is that Ford is building the F150 Lightning factory lines in a way that they can be quickly converted to produce ICE F150s. The stock is very reasonably priced around $11/share in my mind.

Congrats! I was in the same boat I ordered a Hybrid XLT, trailer hitch on 9/15/22. I was expecting May at the very earliest. Mine is currently being shipped and estimated time of delivery of 1/17/23-1/23/23. I'm going to buy a lottery ticketr when it comes in.

That is Fantastic. Triple Fantastic with it being a hybrid. That is they all should progress. Which trim and options? Congratulations !!! You ought to be behind the wheel within a month i guess.
I'm thrilled for you but I gotta say I feel bad for all the MY22 orders and all thats been waiting like a year, Ford is treating lots of folks bad IMO.

I did my penance last year waiting on an F150 Powerboost Hybrid. It took almost a year to get it. Maybe, just maybe Ford decided they owed me for that drama. Or more likely, it was karma after that long wait.

My truck is an XLT Lux Hybrid with Floor Mats in Carbonized Gray. I heard that gray paint was 1st off the line & really wonder if color has anything at all to do with it.
