Getting status updates

So I placed a deposit and order for a Maverick back on 8/5. I did it through a local dealership and did not do it through the Ford website in advance of going to the dealer. I ordered a hybrid, XLT trim. I have gone back and forth between Ford and the dealership on trying to see if I can get a realistic time frame on my order status. I have an order and customer number assigned, but now Ford says I need a vehicle VIN and the dealer says that I will know something from Ford before they will. I assume the VIN won't be issued until the vehicle is scheduled for production. So I am getting a little nervous since Ford can't really tell me anything - I do understand the hybrid production is pushed out to start in December. My question has anyone been successful in getting status info on their order? I am starting to get nervous as each month ticks on.

Layman's answer: You already know as much as you're going to until such time as the order is scheduled for production.

Many, many in the same boat. Pull up a comfy seat; there's cookies around here somewhere.

The lack of VIN is concerning. I didn’t order much sooner than you and have had a VIN for a while.

I ordered 8/9 and do not have a vin. My understanding is you will not get a vin till you are scheduled.
I think that is true, but I ordered a week before you and was scheduled for 10/11 (pushed to 11/1) and had a VIN since September.

Yea you got very lucky. There are people who ordered Hybrids in June that are still not scheduled.

I have been waiting since 6/17/21. Mums the word so I’ve heard. Going to wait through New Years I have patience!

Yeah, it’s pretty wild. I didn’t do anything different from anyone else and I doubt the dealer I ordered from is anything major.

1st Edition Hybrid w/ Lux and waiting since June. No update other than order confirmed by my dealer and Ford customer service.

That’s me, ordered 6/18 FE Lariat Hybrid w/ Touchlink lighting. Never received a confirmation email but do have a sales and order code. I have called Ford a few times and they’ve confirmed that there’s an order w/my name on it. I also bug my dealer every other week for a status update. What’s frustrating is not understanding the process on how orders are selected. Pretty upsetting hearing about some ordering in Oct and immediately scheduled and others still no word. If the process could be explained, I’m pretty sure it would help ease some concerns.

It's my understanding that the 2024 orders won't go into production until maybe October of 2023. I may be wrong but I believe that is when the 2023 model productions will stop and change over to 2024. The roll overs will be produced first so it is going to be a while before you get a vin #.
