So, my new Lariat is waiting at a lot 20 miles away from me since February for a fix, whatever that might be. None of the ones that made it on to the road have had a leak but I'm waiting "till the fourth quarter" for a solution. Just in case, I ordered another one and just found out it's scheduled for June (yeah, next month).
Who else is in this predicament? We need to form a sub-group.

You didn't complain loud enough.

I'd insisted FORD customer care call around in a 500 mile radius for other dealer stock and swap vehicles with you. You are saying your NEW (never used) truck is still sitting on a lot since February? If not registered to you, it's a simple no brainer to just get another one somewhere else. Like 15% of ordered trucks are never picked up.

Oh I've been bitching up a storm. I did buy one off the lot for the interim that the dealer will buy back so I'm still driving a Mav.
And, yes, my new truck is sitting on a lot since February, 20 frigging miles away from me. They say they'll fix it in the fourth friggin quarter

Yeah, 24S17 is still in advance notice. No update since it was announced in March. Only a couple of hundred vehicles involved, and based on the build-dates, it is likely that most of them didn't make it to the dealerships before the recall was announced.

Nothing the dealer can do until parts and instructions are available...and a pretty big federal fine if they sell one with an open recall!

Trust me, I complained as loud as I could as well.

And it's going to remain sitting there until sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

It doesn't help much when you find out your specific combination of options is literally the only one order for that year and the critical one can only be installed at the factory, so you can't even take one that's close and retrofit it.

698 days and counting...

Ford used up all their available inventory of gas tanks fixing the ones they caught before they were shipped and they have no plans of producing any more until the end of the model year run. The only way anyone who was affected by the recall is seeing a new truck before Thanksgiving is by starting the process over again and ordering a new one.

Yes, unfortunately, I believe that that is most likely correct.

Ford does sometimes beat their anticipated parts availability by a few months. But I have also seen them be a few months late. So it is really hard to predict.

And to add insult to injury, Ford has never officially sent out any type of recall notice or so much as an email to the affected people or dealerships. Unless you search your VIN in the NHTSA website, there's no way of even knowing why your truck has been stuck in "Shipped" status for five months.

The only thing they did about a month ago was delete all the delivery details. They don't even have a note in the file, so if you call Ford Customer Care, they won't be able to give you any information as to why it's taking so long.

Mind if I ask, what is your build that someone told you it's a one of one?

Never mind, I imagine it's the block heater.

Yeah, I did. It's scheduled for middle of June. I ordered it as soon as I found out about the recall, just in case. Glad I did.

Got it on the first guess. It's the engine block heater. It basically has to be installed at the factory. Technically, there's aftermarket ones, but even if you pay 10x the factory price to get it installed, Ford will void essentially all the warranties on the truck.
